It’s Been A Long Time Coming - ‘(Semi)Weakly Update’ Ending May 16, 2008 Part I
Ed Chau AGAIN?! Well hey, what can I say? I think my enemies have been taking advantage of my away time from writing while I sifted through thousands of lines of code. Next time, I think I’ll keep those types of things to myself. Incidentally, our own Larry Gilbert is out of the area as well. So what does ‘The LBC’ do? Ed Chau stories ad nauseum. For each and every endorsement, a new announcement, some minutes apart. Geez, don’t put them all into one post or anything, just keep reposting those press releases until they fill the whole front page… *ahem* Andrew Davey. I’m not going to link to any of the articles because it’s really not necessary when I can more easily tell you that Ed’s endorsements make him look as blue as a clear sky in a district that I don’t think is buying into the Democratic renaissance, especially while Gary Miller seems, for the moment, to have at least some consideration for his district. And yes, Ed got the DPOC endorsement. *sigh* They’re all in it together now.

Well, don’t expect any life preservers from this purple pagan. The captain is supposed to go down with the ship. Or am I just old school?
Speaking of ‘schooling,’ more on Commie Girl’s new failure after the flip…
Commie Girl AGAIN?! A big fat ‘I told ya so‘ to my ‘friend’ Commie Girl (this one’s not even close to ‘dead-horse’ and it’s seemingly becoming a legitimate story) who seems to be blaming me for her recent misfortunes at ‘L.A. Citys**t.’ I practically promised her protests if she got back into print, but gladly that wasn’t necessary. Apparently, her response to the attacks made by others is once again that I’m just a loony, unjustifiably angry cyber-stalker and I have ruined her career (even if I have, then technically it’s karmic) - no protests necessary either! If her bosses are smart, they’ll offer me her job. If they do, and largely telecommuting is OK, I’m, like, so there! I know how to get the most out of my budget and my people and don’t even require an office to work. All I need is my laptop and I’m just peachy keen. The world is my office.
Sadly, Ms. Girl (vagina, vagina, vagina) doesn’t make a very good editor, simply doing everything herself since nobody seems to want to work with her anyway according the article at the link. Check out LA Citybeat’s Wikipedia article which explains that Rebecca is the Godssend of Los Angeles and in doing so protrays her as some kind of wonder woman. Well, actually, I do wonder about a few things myself…
I mean, why would she be good at running a business if she can’t even run her own life without scandal? She’s not even a decent writer! She doesn’t seem to understand the difference between being thought-provoking and being controversial, her grammar is atrocious, and what’s up with her vernacular (creating words such as ‘communastiness’)? Until she finds that balance, L.A. will chew her up and spit her out like many, many of those who have come before. The Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and all that. What’s worse is she’s wasting yet another semi-high profile position to talk about obscure art and take pot-shots at people for which online responses are mostly (admittedly) from her mother.
A writer only a mother could love?
Weakly Quickie: You have got to check out this post on Foothill Cities. Does any of it sound familiar? *ahem* Chris Prevatt at ‘LBC’.

Good morning Sarah and Juice readers.
Let me begin by joining the other members of the Juice family in commending Sarah for the smooth transition to this new blog format. Kudo’s to SMS
Yes, we touched down yesterday and shortly will be hitting this keyboard with new stories and updates.
While I have your attention let me remind readers of an earlier post of a FREE event being held in Mission Viejo that is happening this weekend. The Fun With Chalk 10th annual celebration of the arts provides free access to view and participate in the numerous activites. Check out the quarter page, full color, ad in today’s OC Register that includes all of the details and directions to the expanded Norman P Murray Community & Senior Center.
I plan to be there both today and part of tomorrow taking photos of the event.

Damn, Sarah! And I was just starting to feel good about staying on this blog. I wish you would keep all your attacks on Commie Girl, Andrew Davey, the Ed Chau campaign, and the Liberal OC, over at your own “Centrist OC.” Nobody else wants to hear it!

SMS,
Really who cares?

So what now? Because I have personal involvement in these stories I shouldn’t cover them? I’m not making the news, I’m just reporting it and commentating. I feel like the blue crowd is trying to hide something. Sorry Vern, but last time I checked you were still part of it, so in my opinion, yours is a biased ‘opinion,’ AKA ‘the party line.’
‘Paul and Rebecca - A Democratic(??) Love Story’ is currently the #3 story on OJ after the SAUSD thread and the story about the shooting at Original Mikes which has only a few more views than mine. Nobody wants to hear it indeed.

Your writing on eminent domain has been very good, I’m glad you picked up the slack on that because you know more about property & real estate issues than me. Your writing on other things like the gay marriage decision is also valuable. And I thanked and complimented you in private, but I should now in public, on your hard and creative work on this re-design.
But your continuing one-sided fixation on Commie Girl is not news, or interesting, it’s only embarrassing. Same with the grudges you can never give up against the Chau campaign and the Liberal OC. And don’t accuse me of toeing any “party line,” I’m as gadfly as they come.
A week had gone by without you beating on your straw men and dead horses, and I had hoped you’d gone past all that. But I guess you were just too busy. I still hope that you can keep your personal vendettas to the Centrist OC.

Vern, that sounds a little like George Carlin’s line “your stuff’s shit - my shit’s stuff” which is a funny human-interest angle but ignores the fun that arises from reading SMS writing style. I am much less concerned about reading usable facts from these blogs than from reading interesting creative writing. Love your style Vern, and those of the other contributers and commenteers as well.

Mr. Grace, I know you are a great activist, and I’d think you would expect some substance from us humble bloggers, not just gladiatorial logorrhea.

So Vern, what you’re saying is that I can only write about serious things. If I want to have professional rivalries which, by the numbers, people seem to be more interested in than you allege, then I should take it somewhere else. I guess grace is the only one who gets it again. I’m not the editor of laist.com where the article comes from so I guess they were interested in this story too.
‘The LBC’ attempted to destroy me, I spun it back on them where it belonged, and now I’m following the related stories on the net, otherwise not commenting, and if anyone keeps pounding (hacking) away at the Ed Chau thing, it’s Andrew Davey. Blame him and his incessant non-specific press releases.
