Steve Rocco sets sights on Santa Ana council seat
The OC Register delves deeper into the Steve Rocco for Santa Ana City Council race here, and his quest to unseat one term Councilmember Carlos Bustamante.
According to the story, “both men pulled filing documents on Monday, according to the Clerk of the Council’s Office”
I have heard much grumbling out of Ward 3 with regards to the lack of involvement from Councilmember Bustamante, promises made and promises broken and numerous other concerns.
With crime increasing North of 17th, such as an 85 year old resident of Portola Park being robbed in front of her home and wounded in the encounter, will residents in those areas finally say enough is enough?
Park Santiago, Portola Park, Fairhaven, Maybury Park, and Riverview are among the areas less than impressed with Councilmember Bustamante. Only the multi-million dollar investments into the Floral Park/Morrison Park have kept Councilmember Bustamante in favor there.
Will pandering to the Mayor’s pals be enough for Carlos to keep his Council seat or will a credible challenge step up prior to August 8th?

Wow ! 85 year old lady robbed on my street.
Things ARE getting tough north of 17th.
A few months ago my daughters’ new truck was totalled and my new car received major damage due to a high speed police chase hit and run driver. Both vehicles were parked in front of my house.
That one did wake me up. There were 14 cop cars on my street that night.
I wonder if the homes in my neighborhood that rent rooms to illegals have anything to do with all this increased crime?
Time to move to Coto.
