Did Janet Nguyen ask Claudio Gallegos to rip Quang Pham?

claudio-gallegos

Why is Claudio Gallegos going after moderate Republican Quang X. Pham?

Liberal OC blogger Claudio Gallegos, who oversaw the stillborn Sunny D blog, put up an obnoxious post yesterday ripping moderate Republican congressional candidate Quang X. Pham.

The premise of Claudio’s attack is that Pham supporter Gen. William Lyon allegedly ran cover for pedophile priests.  If he did so, I don’t think any of us should be terribly surprised.  There are a lot of uber-Catholic Republicans in Orange County, including former Party Chairman Tom Fuentes and Red County blogger Matt “Jerbal” Cunningham, who have done questionable things in service to their church.

But what the hell does that have to do with Pham?  Claudio wrote “We all know Loretta Sanchez would never cavort with this sort of ilk and I am sure if Quang is her opponent, will expose his actions to the voting families of the 47th Congressional District.”

Really?  Hasn’t Loretta been known to “cavort” at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion?  And isn’t she “cavorting” with a married defense lobbyist?  In fact her sister Linda recently married another lobbyist after he knocked her up.  Does any of that remind you of disgraced former Assemblyman Mike Duvall?  He got in trouble for “cavorting” with lobbyists, why is Claudio giving the Sanchez sisters a free pass for doing the SAME THING?

In fact Pham mentioned at his recent fundraiser that the Sanchez sisters have made history.  They are the first sisters in Congress to both be investigated by the House Ethics Committee at the same time.  Nice…

Claudio also wrote “As for Quang, I know he may be a thorn in Van Tran’s side currently, but I refuse to sit back and give anyone a free pass when it comes to the Catholic Church abuse scandal.”

The irony is that Claudio’s own fellow Liberal OC bloggers regularly defend Jerbal even though he outed the names of molestation victims – while he was shilling for John Urell, a monsignor who, like Lyon, covered up for pedophile priests.

The bottom line however is that Claudio is stupidly attacking the moderate Pham when the REAL enemy is the Mexican-hater Van Tran!  If Pham can defeat Tran in the primary, Tran will be FINISHED in Orange County politics.  But instead of helping the moderate Libertarian-leaning Pham Claudio is attacking him.

It is a fact that Claudio and his fellow Liberal OC bloggers are longtime Jannies - acolytes of Republican Supervisor Janet Nguyen.  Janet even attended Claudio’s birthday party at the seedy Quill Bar a couple of years ago.  Could it be that Janet is pulling Claudio’s chain even now?  I would imagine that she is threatened by Pham, who is a very well respected businessman in the local Vietnamese American community.

If this is true I find it disgusting.  Janet should stay out of the Tran versus Pham contest if she is not going to back either one.  And going after Pham is B.S.  But many of us know that Janet is jealous of Pham and wishes she had the spine to take on Loretta.

Perhaps I am making too much of this.  Claudio’s lame p0st has merited exactly zero comments and it is already buried on page two of the Liberal OC…

And Pham is doing great.  He recently announced that he has raised over $100,000.  He is well on his way to taking out Tran.  Then on to Loretta…

Maybe agreed to help pay his bar tab at the Quill.

Sure is funny the selective memory these guys have. They regularly cavort and cover for pedo-apologist Matt Cunningham who outted the names of sex abuse victims.

I will be supporting Loretta Sanchez, but I find it disgusting that the LibOC would be doing Van Tran’s dirty work and attacking his opponent.

Who knows if Janet didn’t offer to help Claudio out financially, maybe Tran did. Lord knows he can use the help.

I don’t get it. What does any of this have to do with Janet Nguyen? I think you are making way too much of this.

To me the connection is simple. Claudio likes Loretta and is going after a potential opponent.

I’m just happy Q is running so I have somebody to vote for.

Don’t forget to add your blogger buddy Sean to that list. Maybe you missed his post where he pimps for some L.A. Priest L.A. who wants to start a project in Santa Ana to keep bad boys out of mischief by having them work for priests. Remember Art, nothing stops pedophile priests like cutting off their supply of young boys!

I agree with Zenger on “Claudio likes Loretta….”

So why wouldn’t Jan Nguyen ask Claudio to trash Loretta also, if he is so much under Nguyen’s control?

Hey Pope on a Rope…That’s a great idea! I’ve always thought a soap shaped Pope on a rope for the shower or bath would be a huge seller around the holidays. Maybe OCWEEKLY could make/sell them whenever a Priest is outed!

    David and “Just in Time,”

This is how Janet operates. She is smart enough not to ask Claudio to rip Loretta.

Here is proof of the way Janet thinks. Why hasn’t she endorsed Hugh Nguyen for Clerk Recorder now that Norby is out of that race? The answer – she doesn’t help other Viet candidates unless they are outright Jannies.

This is why she has not endorsed Pham even though he is a great candidate and even though he is running against the hated Van Tran.

In the end, Janet is only for Janet…and Claudio is just another of her stooges.

One last comment – if Janet ever runs against Loretta, what will poor Claudio do then? LOL!

    #3,

What a despicable piece of garbage your statement shows you to be.

There has never been a single accusation of sexual misconduct made against Father Greg Boyle.

If you can cite a single case in which anyone involved with Homeboy Industries has been accused or proven of being a pedo-priest I will retract this and apologize.

Until then you just help to paint the picture of folks like you, a steaming pile of $hit.

    Please correct yourself, Mill.

#4 is me, Just in Time, and I believe you are addressing #3 Pope….

Don’t disrespect me, re-read ALL of my comments- I earn respect, as well as I gladly reciprocate that same respect. I believe I contribute well to this blog. If I have questions, I ask. If you cannot answer with class and decorum to someone who has never disrespected you, then let one of your other moderators do so with the expected tact and reciprocated respect.

On the SACRED Post you lost decorum and asked,
“Who the hell are you?” We don’t need to know each other to blog on the O.J. I don’t know you either, yet I am not asking rudely, “Who the h_ll are you? It is easy for you to assume that we know everyone whom you talk about on this blog.

I asked you, “who are these ppl?” Why so defensive- all of a sudden I don’t feel welcome by you- and we don’t even know each other.

How do you expect for this blog’s audience to continue growing if you assume we all know your circle of friends.
I can also ask you- who’s Claudio- I don’t care who Clausio is — all I asked was why is Nguyen not asking him to trash Loretta? and Art answered that already. -

    Please change that 4 to a 3.

Good job Sean for attacking the wrong post. Maybe you should focus more on your very hot and exciting Santa Ana blog.

“I don’t get it. What does any of this have to do with Janet Nguyen? I think you are making way too much of this.”

The answer to the above question David is NOTHING. But that’s what Art likes to do, to stir and speculate.

Art, I’ve asked you this before, but didn’t see your answer. Are you supporting Pham over Sanchez??

You are correct my comments were directed at “pope”. My apologies if you were somehow offended, clearly folks realized I was addressing the libelous garbage spewed by “pope”.

In reagards to “these people” it is obvious to most people on this blog who they are. Anyone who has been around for any time at all knows them.

Lam my focus is just fine. Thanks for the concern.

“Rep. Loretta Sanchez loves traveling on your dime
    September 14th, 2009 · 3 Comments

Yesterday I was alerted to this article in the LA Times highlighting Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez’s traveling expenses. I do believe that Congress needs to reign in the overseas travel costs, especially in these tough times and start utilizing technology more to learn about issues like global warming, transportation, and anti-terrorism strategies. Does it take a whole contingent of Congressional members traveling half way across the world to learn about global warming? I’m not opposed to some travel on the job and understand that in many positions, it is necessary, but given the current economic crisis and climate of frugality, it isn’t a good idea to go snorkeling like Sanchez has been doing and then telling us that it makes her a more effective legislator to go on such excursions.

If you want to review Sanchez’s effectiveness as a legislator, I encourage you to examine her record here and see for yourself how many of the bills she has sponsored have become law. Also worth noting is the explanation about her bill sponsorship analysis, which says, “Sanchez is a follower. Sanchez tends to cosponsor the bills of other Members of Congress who do not cosponsor Sanchez’s own bills.” I think that we need more leaders in the Latino community, not followers. If my tax dollars are funding trips that are supposed to be increasing Rep. Loretta Sanchez’s effectiveness, her record isn’t reflecting her claim. But given her reputation and judgment, should this surprise us?

    1El Cholo // Sep 14, 2009 at 11:49 pm

All this traveling on the public’s dime is one Loretta Sanchez’s abuses that define her as a public thief. The PMA Group, listed on http://www.govtrack.us/congress/person.xpd?id=400356 as her largest lobbyist, is a group put together by her boyfriend/attorney Jack Einwechter, defines another public crime. Her inept legislative performances define another public crime. And then every time the public is forced to listen to her attempt to speak in that shrill anal voice, defines another crime. Don’t you think it’s time the American public rids itself of all incompetent public officials?

    2theKaiser // Sep 15, 2009 at 1:49 pm

Only in a perfect world El Cholo, only in a perfect world, but I agree with everything you said. The Congressional 47th district of California has got to demand responsibility and character from their Congressional representatives, and stop making choices based exlusively on surnames. Loretta Sanchez has just furthered the negative Latino politician stereotype, which in the end demeans the Latino politicians who produce legislation and don’t abuse the perks.

    3Michaelr // Sep 15, 2009 at 3:24 pm

Loretta Sanchez’s public crimes and abuses are more likely to draw fire from Capitol Hill rather than voters in California’s Congressional 47th district. The “freewheeling-rob-the-taxpayer mentality that peaked during GWB administration should affect current Congressional politicians who have not toned down their public abuses and become more productive. And Loretta is one of those Congressional politicians who have done nothing for their constituents, but have abused the taxpayer to the fullest extent. If anything the DNC should begin searching for a candidate to replace her, before the GOP grabs that seat.”

    GG Resident says:

Loretta has represented the 47th Congressional District responsibily and responsively. She attends community events, supports our troops and brings home federal funds for public services and infrastructure projects. She is an asset to our community.

    Art Pedroza says:

    #17,

She has been OK for the most part but weak on Latino issues.

And her alleged relationship with a lobbyist is a real problem for me. Doesnt’ that remind you of Mike Duvall’s situation?

    #19,

Exactly! It is stupid for Claudio to go after Pham.

Janet knows Tran can’t beat Loretta. But Pham can and she dosnakt want him to go to Congress.

Janet wants Loretta’s seat. So now her Jannie, Claudio, is going after Pham.

    It makes sense to me…

    Art Pedroza says:

    Lam,

I have answered that question before.

As a Libertarian I am barred from the GOP primary. As such I will vote for Loretta.

In the general, I will vote for Pham if he wins the primary.

If Tran wins the primary then I will vote for Loretta.

If only we had an open primary now…

  • 24
    Lam Pho says:

    Thanks Art.

  • 25
    A real Libertarian says:

“As a Libertarian I am barred from the GOP primary. As such I will vote for Loretta.”

Since you make such a big deal about being a Libertarian, maybe you should vote for the Libertarian candidate in June, instead of a big government left-winger like Loretta Sanchez.

That is, if you are a real Libertarian.

  • 26
    Art Pedroza says:

    #25,

Is there a Libertarian candidate running? I am not aware of one. Why don’t you enlighten us about this mysterious candidate?

I mean at least tell us his or her name! I have not received any notices from the Libertarian Party of Orange County about a candidate running in this district.

Of course if there was a Libertarian candidate I would consider voting for him or her.
