How much will Ryan Trabuco sell Miguel Pulido's campaign URL for?

Dennis de Snoo and Al Amezcua

Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido is facing the toughtest political battle of his life next year, as he will be facing off against well-known Latino activist and former Rancho Santiago Community College District Trustee Alfredo Amezcua.  Now questions are being raised about Pulido’s campaign consultant, Dennis De Snoo.

De Snoo hired failed Republican Assembly candidate Ryan Gene Trabuco, who was formerly known as Ryan Gene Williams, to design and manage Pulido’s campaign website last year.  In fact, Williams owns Pulido’s URL, www.miguelpulido.com, via a proxy in Pennsylvania called Ice Flare.  That same company also owns www.ryantrabuco.com.

Why does any of this matter?  Well, Trabuco was caught this week selling a client’s URL to a political enemy of that client.  No bueno for Trabuco!  Who would want to hire a webmaster who sells off his client’s URLs once he is done with them?

How did DeSnoo end up hiring a washed up Republican candidate to work on his clients’ websites?   Local Democratic gadfly Phil Bacerra personally recommended Trabuco to DeSnoo last year.  And both Bacerra and Trabuco are allied with Republican Supervisor Janet Nguyen.

Ryan Gene Trabuco

Dennis DeSnoo hired this clown to build and manage his clients’ campaign websites

In fact Trabuco also purchased a number of URLs of political opponents of Supervisor Nguyen.  And now it gets interesting.  Trabuco is a County of Orange employee, working for Supervisor Nguyen.  Apparently her County employee is engaging in nefarious political hits on her opponents – which is not something County workers are allowed to do.

Trabuco also has donated hundreds of dollars to Nguyen’s campaigns and to the campaign of her Chief of Staff, Andrew Do, when he ran as a carpetbagger for the Garden Grove City Council last year.  How does a broke college student find the money to make such contributions?  Or did Nguyen funnel money from other maxed out contributors to Trabuco?

Trabuco is clearly done as a campaign webmaster, in the wake of his recent activities.  And he may well be done as a County of Orange employee.  But how will all of this affect DeSnoo?  And can DeSnoo handle the tough campaign that Pulido is facing against Amezcua?  DeSnoo is known for his cookie-cutter campaigns.  He wins because he manages campaigns for well-heeled incumbents.  Can he win a closely contested race between candidates who both have name I.D. and money?

Can Pulido ultimately trust DeSnoo and Trabuco?  Both are known for playing both sides of the political fence.  DeSnoo gave $2,300 to Republican John McCain in 2007, then he turned around and gave an Orange County Democratic Party Federal PAC $1,500, according to the Huffington Post.

Trabuco also pals around with members of both political parties.  In fact he sold one of his clients’ URLs to Dan Chmielewski, the editor of the failing Liberal OC blog.  The move backfired though when Trabuco’s jilted client ended up buying ryangenetrabuco.com, liberalocblog.com, theliberalocblog.com, and madisonalexandrpublicrelations.com.  Chmielewski owns Madison Alexander Public Relations, but he no longer owns the URL by that name!  The same jilted client also bought supervisorjanetnguyen.com, councilmanandrewdo.com, leessandwichesstanton.com, claudiogallegos.com, and chrisleahprevatt.com.

As for DeSnoo, will he be able to pry Pulido’s URL back from Trabuco, or will Trabuco want a lot of money for it?  Or will Trabuco try to sell it to Amezcua?  And if so, for how much?

Orange County’s Internet political war has started – and Desnoo and his clients are right smack in the middle of the fracas…

Great Post Art! Didn’t DeSnoo also handle Amezqua’s campaigns in the past?
Perhaps he will work for Al.

Has Pulido said for sure that he will run for re-election? Will 8th Floor Boss Jill Arthur allow Pulido to step down if her position as an “at-will” employee depends on Pulido being mayor?

    Are you supporting Amezqua Art?

Who else might run? What about Pat McGuigen?

I’d like to see Joe Dunn run for Santa Ana Mayor. He would have my vote and my contribution.

Apparently, Hell hath no fury like an ex-client scorned, Art. Weird, but all those URL’s seem to bring the reader right back here to OJ. Hmmmm

I am actually shocked at Ryan. That doesn’t seem legal – IS IT LEGAL? I would think that doing webwork for people and keeping/selling their URL’s without notification is a breach of ethics and possibly against the law.

The way I see it Art is if you had a contractor come in and put an addition in your home, but he took out some of the fixtures when he left after the work was done and sold them to another homeowner – that would be such a huge breach of trust and actually a criminal act.

    Art Pedroza says:

    Red,

Ryan certainly did step in it.

As for the sites, I noticed that, but now some of them are forwarding to some very strange sites indeed…

    Red Vixen says:

I looked at the Claudio one. That was the one that came here to OJ.

Is what Ryan did illegal? Certainly it is a huge FAIL for any political business contracts in the immediate future and in this immediate area, I would say.

Penny wise, pound foolish… as they say.

What does Trabucco do for janet? Is he campaign or regular supervisor staffer? How can you advance charges agaisnt him as a county employee? I wouldnt be surpised if janet egged him on to do it so he can be a fall guy for her.

  • 7
    Art Pedroza says:

    Paul,

Trabuco is a County staffer. Yet he has been engaging in political attacks. My guess is he is not going to be holding on to his County job much longer.

And yes, it sure seems like he was egged on by somebody. Was it Tom Bonikowski? Or Phil Bacerra? Or Thomas Gordon? Hard to say, but the results have not been good for any of their cabal.

My sources tell me that Mr. Trabuco will be asked to leave the office tomorrow morning at the staff meeting.

#8, is that true? If it is congradulations, Art! The Orange Juice is even an influential force within the Halls of Administration. Now that you’ve taken down Williams Trabuco Canyon, who you gonna get fired next?

  • 11
    anon says:

#9, now that Williams Trabuco Canyon is out of a job he can “suck” up to Prevatt for money. Or he can just hustle the streets with Prevatt in Long Beach looking for a good time.

As I constituent of First District Supervisor Janet Nguyen I am appalled to know that she is employing someone on the taxpayers dime who is responsible for underhanded and sneaky attacks on Nguyen’s political enemies. Very Nixonian of her.

Trabuco should be fired immediately as a result of his actions. Also I think that the grand jury or law enforcement officials should look into the source of the money behind the donations given by Trabuco to Nguyen and Do. Is it possible that he is just a straw man for donors that had maxxed out on their contributions?

The county should also looked into the fact that Nguyen is hiring folks that are contributors to her campaign. Is she selling county jobs?

  • 13
    anon says:

Sean, your prayers have been answered. Ryan will be fired tomorrow morning.

You should send out a blast e-mail to people about the situation and let them know how you successfully managed to do good for the people of the First District in this capacity. Thank you, Sean!

  • 14
    anon says:

Do you still plan on addressing the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday and if so, will you thank Supervisor Nguyen for firing Ryan?

  • 15
    Sean H. Mill says:

Why would I thank her? She should have never hired him in the first place. She knew good and well about his activities, especially his actions regarding the campaigns of Hoa Van Tran and Dina Nguyen where he redirected URL’s to gay pornography sites.

This is just another example of the lack of character of the First District Supervisor. She has demonstrated that she is as bad as, if not worse than, Van Tran.

    Paul Lucas says:

I didnt know Ryan Gene Williams Trabucco was working for janet or the county. Whats his capacity and position Art do you know? I was wondering why I saw him hanging out at Drinking Liberally with Chris Prevatt, and Dan C. I guess they cannot deny that they are Jannies any longer eh?

Oh by the way they have my comp blocked fro the Liberal OC so i cannot even read the website. Can you believe how chicken shit these guys are? No wonder Ryan is hanging out with them. Wusses tend to coagulate.

  • 17
    One Who Knows says:

Paul, it doesn’t matter what Ryan was doing for Janet. The fact is he’s done and no longer a County employee as of 930 tomorrow.

  • 18
    Paul Lucas says:

    OWK,
I wouldnt be so confident. janet Nguyen has a few Dems in her hip pocket including Melahat Rafei The DPOC ED who led a witch hunt by trying to have me censured for something that isnt even a censurable offense.

By that I mean that janet has been given a free pass so many times that she can do what ever she wants with impunity.

And will Chris Prevatt say or write anything about her homophobic and anti labor positions? Hell No! Its been rumored that Janet is protecting Chris Prevatt from the budget cutting lay off axe. And as each day goes by its looking more and more obvious that she is engaged in a quid pro quo with Prevatt. Keep her name out of any negative posts and he gets to keep his job.

    Artful Dodger says:

You can buy up every possible combination of URL’s for and against Pulido and it will have no impact on the race for Mayor. Here’s a newsflash for those outside Santa Ana. Most of our residents don’t get their voter info from the internet. Besides that, Miguel will only leave the post of Mayor when HE decides to go. He will continue to win just as Loretta will stay in Congress until she decides to go. The rest of this is just fun to write about and helps political consultants make money.

    art lomeli says:

#’s 19,20 and 21 offer personal attack only. It is their only weapon as they can not defend the condition Pulido has created in Santa Ana.

It is childish, self serving and ineffective politics. Business people and residents are living in the the bad management conditions created by Pulido.

They want a campaign of solutions not of personal childish attacks. A campaign of attacks will not be tolerated by the voters . It is not the politics of old. His associates from his campaign, #’s 19,20 and 21 above need to take notice.

A campaign of change by Pulido is not forthcoming as he has had 14 years of running the city into the ground and will continue to do so.

I called Janet’s office a few minutes ago and the lady said Ryan WASN’T there! Hooray!!! Also, I know what he drives (it’s not hard to spot cause he has bumper stickers on them) and I checked both of the county parking lots to make sure that his car was not tere and it wasnt. Kind of disappointing to cause since he backstabbed you Art I wondr what Ryan would do if he got a knife through his tires… or his back. Either way what he did was wrong and he neds to pay for what he did.

  • 25
    Time for Change says:

I believe Mr. Amezqua will run to win through hard work and will not need URL’s of PUlido to win.

  • 26
    Sean H. Mill says:

    #24,

I agree that Ryan should pay for what he has done, however neither Art nor I condone any sort of violent act against he or his property. That is not how we operate and I would appreciate if you would refrain from engaging in those sort of suggestions on the OJ.

I emailed Janet and the entire board of supes this morning, as well as county CEO Tom Mauk, calling for Trabuco’s termination. Let’s see if Janet rids herself of this cancer.

Are there any updates? has janet Nguyens office responded to her employee doing these tyoe of things on our dime?

Weeeelll…how did the muscle-flexing by the avenging angels of the OC blogosphere go today? Did Janet bend to the will of the most influential blog in the state?

    Matt “Jerbal,”

A friend called and asked for Ryan this afternoon. He was no longer available.

  • 30
    Sean H. Mill says:

What did we do to deserve such an honor as having Matt bless us with his presence? No Catholic church sex abuse victims to terrorize today Matt?

How’s the little woman’s clerk/recorder campaign coming Matt? Have you figured out a way to fool the voters into not realizing what a pathetic and unqualified candidate she is yet?

Looks like your boy Trabuco is the ultimate cyber-squatter. Why aren’t you calling him out like you did Tony Bushala?

Silly me if forgot, if you did that it would show some consistency and integrity and all know you lack that.

  • 31
    Red Vixen says:

People like Ryan can be successful backstabbers in politics. However you can’t be a STUPID BACKSTABBER and survive. He’s like the robber that gets blasted by the ink pack hidden in the money. EVERYONE’s on to him as soon as that happens.

What WAS that boy thinking? NO candidate would be wise to trust him going forward.

And I see that little varmit, Jerbal Cunningham, can’t stay away from posting at OJ. What’s the matter? NO ONE at all posting over at that dustbowl blog of yours, Matt?

  • 32
    Paul Lucas says:

Matt how do you feel about Ryan Gene Williams Trabucco conducting himslef like this? Isnt this a breach of ethics on his part to hold on to and release url addresses of former clients?

  • 33

Hey Sean — taking a break from calling Janet’s office and then hanging up? you’re the guy who gets his panties in a wad when someone tried to get you fired, and now you’re trying to get Ryan fired. You’re a bully AND a hypocrite. “Little woman” And now you’ve sunk to belittling other men’s wives. Are we to add “misogynist” to your list of titles. That would explain a lot.

I’m just waiting to see you and Art and this mighty, mighty blog bend Janet to your righteous will! After all, this is the top political blog in Orange County! Surely, Janet and her staff are trembling at your wrath!

  • 34
    Art Pedroza says:

    Matt,

From what I hear Janet is completely freaked out by all of this. I would not be surprised if she were to cut Ryan loose.

So is Mrs. Jerbal running for Clerk-Recorder? If not will you be backing Hugh?

  • 35
    Sean H. Mill says:

Calling Janet’s office and hanging up? Don’t think so Jerb, I, unlike you have a real job that does not involve getting on my knees for local pols.

You are correct, I am trying to get Ryan fired and I will keep it up until it is done. If that makes me a “bully” than so be it.

Let’s get one thing straight, I was not “belittling other men’s wives”, because for one thing you’re not a “man”, you’re a eunuch who talks a good game on the internet.Second, I was belittling the most pathetic and unqualified candidate for clerk/recorder, too bad for you she happens to be your wife. If she/you don’t want her to be criticized tell her to stay home and practice those “family values” you folks like to preach.

“Mysoginist”? Wouldn’t that make me a Republican?

Yes I was, but then I went to college and got an education.

    What’s your point?

If indeed you say that being a mysognist would make you a Republican, then my point is wouldn’t you have been a mysoginist prior to becoming an “educated Democrat?”
