Remember when Supervisor Janet Nguyen voted against letter grade restaurant health ratings? And then we revealed that her husband, Tom Bonikowski, and her Chief of Staff, Andrew Do, co-own a Lee’s Sandwiches in Stanton that has received some 40 health violations? That story later hit the AP wire.
We then discovered that Nguyen had received contributions from dozens of restaurants that had also received major health violations. And the O.C. Register found out that Bonikowski works for a company that provides food to various school cafetarias. Yep, they have been busted too.
Well, apparently Bonikowski and Do did not learn their lesson. Their restaurant got busted again on Oct. 21. Here is a list of their most recent health violations:
Improper Holding Temp of PHF (60F-120F), (50F-59F)
Improper Holding Temperatures of PHF
Inappropriate Sanitizer Level/ Lack of Test Strips
Unsanitary Equipment/Utensil/Linen/Plumbing
Lack of/Improper Handwashing/Handwashing Sup.
Lack of/Unsanitary/Condition Walls/Floors/Ceilings
Evidence of Vermin Activity/Presence of Animals
Nice. But if you visit their restaurant you won’t find the C grade they deserve, thanks to Nguyen.

Is it really so hard to run a clean restaurant?
