Supervisor Janet Nguyen wants to spend six figures on metal arches for downtown Garden Grove

Janet Nguyen

Supervisor Janet Nguyen wants to spend six figures to build two metal arches on Main St., in downtown Garden Grove.  And the arches will be handed over to the Garden Grove Downtown Business Association after the fact.

“The two lighted metal arches with red strawberries filigreed in them are expected to cost $100,000 to build and $120 annually for electrical service. According to the staff report, money for this project is coming from Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen’s office,” according to the O.C. Register.

Unemployment is over ten percent and Nguyen thinks it is a good time to spend six figures on metal arches?  Shouldn’t the Garden Grove Downtown Business Association buy their own damned arches?

Is there no end to Nguyen’s pandering?

Can we expect more pork barrel spending now that Nguyen’s husband Tom Bonikowski is on the Garden Grove Planning Commission and her Chief of Staff, Andrew Do, is on the Garden Grove City Council?

Coincidentally, Janet and her pals like to get drunk at the Azeca Restaurant, on Main St.

    Fed up says:

Santa Ana spent over 300,000 to put an arch over one of the most rundown sections of main street. This looks minor in comparison.

Is Garden Grove even in her jurisdiction?
