Chairman Janet Nguyen celebrates her three vote win by asking supporters for $333

March 26 is a date that will forever live in infamy.  Three years ago, on March 26, 2007, Janet Nguyen won a seat on the O.C. Board of Supervisors, by three votes.  It was one of the closest margins of victory in Orange County history.  The results were contested, by her opponent, but she prevailed.

Now Nguyen is looking to cash in, with a fundraiser entitled “3 votes, 3 years, in March.”

Note, in the above graphic, that Nguyen is also cashing in on her status as Chairman of the O.C. Board of Supervisors.

What has Nguyen accomplished in three years?  Nothing of note.  But she did cast the decisive vote against letter grade health ratings for restaurants, even though every county neighboring the O.C. uses that system.  And yes, we did break the story afterwards that her husband, Tom Bonikowski, and her Chief of Staff, Andrew Do, own a Lee’s Sandiwiches franchise in Stanton that has received over 50 violations from the Orange County Department of Health.  If we had letter grades, would their restaurant be an “F?”

The fundraiser is being held at Azteca Restaurant, in Garden Grove.  They too have been issued many violations by the Orange County Health Department.  No bueno!  Click here to read about those.  What letter grade would they have if not for Chairman Janet?

Nguyen also recently voted to spend a third of a million on yet another Viet Memorial, even though it is blocks away from two other such memorials.

Don’t forget her profligate spending on new furniture for her office, and an unnecessary remodeling of her lobby.  And now she has been caught assigning her stooges to the 4th District, which currently has no Supervisor as Chris Norby left for Sacramento.

Nguyen has also made it a habit to support carpetbaggers, like Do, who won a seat on the Garden Grove City Council in 2008 even though he was living in unincorporated Santa Ana Heights at the time.  And Nguyen supported the short-lived campaign of Sue Perez, against State Senator Lou Correa.  Perez pulled out after she too was revealed to be a carpetbagger.  Nguyen also supported the failed carpetbagger Linda Ackerman, who lost to Norby in the 72nd Assembly District.  Now Nguyen is supporting magic carpetbagger Harry Sidhu, who is running for the 4th District on the O.C. Board of Supervisors.

Nguyen also pulled strings to get her husband, Tom Bonikowski, appointed to the City of Garden Grove’s Planning Commission.  He can’t run a sanitary restaurant, but he is now making decisions about what restaurants can and can’t do in Garden Grove.  What a joke!

What a disaster Nguyen has turned out to be!  I can hardly wait for her to lose to Jose Solorio in 2012…
