I was just notified that 70th AD Candidate Don Wagner’s 22 year old son Paul Wagner was found dead this morning. Don is on his way to the house now. The police have not revealed any details.
And do we recognize any of the names on C3's team? Sincerely asking!
May God comfort this Wagner family during this time. Congrat’s to O.J. for breaking the story first. I can’t even find it on the O.C. Register site. Are you sure it’s true? I hope not.
Oh my God Don. I am so beyond words. I am so sorry. I will pray for you and yours.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you today. I’m so sorry for you Don and Meagan and family. Paul was a lovely young man and he will be missed.
Thoughts and prayers.
The Register is now reporting, Paul was home from Baylor for the summer and working on his Dad’s campaign. He was found in an SUV in an Irvine parking structure this morning. More details to come.
Almost a year to the day since the death of Beth Krom’s 22-year old son. Our thoughts and prayers are with them both.
I just spoke to Dons’ campaign consultant Duane in SAC. At this time there is no further info to share.
Please pray for the entire Wagner family.
Larry,
I just called Hugh Nguyen. He coached Paul in baseball years ago. I asked him if Paul had any known health conditions. He said he did not know. He also said he was devasted by this news. Hugh’s son played baseball with Paul. Hugh said Paul was the nicest kid and a great kid to coach. He described him as a nice, easygoing kid.
Hugh visited this morning with Scott Voigts, from the CRA, as Hugh was picking up CRA door hangers, at 10:30 am. Wagner was not there, but Hugh discussed the campaign with Scott, who has been helping Don. Paul must have been found sometime after that.
It is true that even young people can die from strokes or cardiac arrest, or even an allergic attack.
It is strange that two candidates in the same area would lose sons of the same age, under unusual circumstances. Very sad.
The Register report is at this link: http://www.ocregister.com/news/wagner-252069-don-paul.html.

Don called to thank me for posting the notice. He expressed his appreciation for everyone’s thoughts and prayers. I will not go any further with comments at this time.
Larry,
Understandable. Thanks for the post.
We at Dissent the Blog are truly stunned and horrified at the sudden death of Don’s son. Our thoughts are with Don and his family. I do hope and trust that those in the political blogosphere will leave the Wagner family alone and refrain from idle speculation.
woah. 😮 thats horrible
Having had an opportunity to get to know Don through this campaign and mutual friends, I was devastated when I read the story in the Register yesterday. My prayers go out to him and his family.
