“Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin shocked the political word Friday by announcing that she will step down at the end of the month and transfer power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell,” according to Fox News.

Fox News also reported that Palin has faced 15 different ethics inquiries.  In her latest snafu two of her public health officials resigned after Palin expressed that they weren’t in step with her “social issues.”

Palin is certifiable.  There is no way the GOP will prevail with her at the helm.  Looks like we will have Obama in the White House for eight years.

Let’s be honest:  If you are out of a job and deprived of income is there ANYTHING more important to you than getting a job so you can pay your bills, keep your dreams and stay in your home?  I can’t think of any other issue more pressing to most working people.  So what IS our government doing about the roots of this recessionary economy?

Workers lost jobs at a faster pace in June than in the prior month, the Labor Department said Thursday. Nonfarm payrolls shrank by 467,000 in June higher than the 325,000 decline expected by economists surveyed by MarketWatch and the 322,000 jobs lost in May. The unemployment rate ticked higher to 9.5% in June from 9.4% in the previous month. Economists had expected the unemployment rate to rise to 9.6%. Average hourly earnings were flat at $18.53. Economists had been expecting a 0.2% gain. Earnings are up 2.7% in the past year. The average workweek fell six minutes to 33.0 hours. Hours worked fell 0.8% LINK

The Environmental Protection Agency may have suppressed an internal report that was skeptical of claims about global warming, including whether carbon dioxide must be strictly regulated by the federal government, according to a series of newly disclosed e-mail messages.

Less than two weeks before the agency formally submitted its pro-regulation recommendation to the White House, an EPA center director quashed a 98-page report that warned against making hasty “decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data.”

Now, once upon a time the hue and cry from anything resembling political interference during the Bush years would have been headline news. Nothing today. And CBS is holding back on this story because it might hurt Obamas huge Payday to the Climate Industrial Complex. If the administration has directly squashed anything that might not agree with their “green agenda”, then their regulations dont stand a chance when challenged in court. Its getting colder, eliminating all cars will only reduce a fraction of carbon, and once we do it we will have to tax anyone who doesnt. Can you say trade sanctions?

My friends, despite what CNN and the rest are telling you, Barack Obama is nothing more than an old school African Colonial who is on his way to turning this country into one of the developing nations that you learn about on the National Geographic Channel.

Had Americans been able to stop obsessing over the color of Barack Obama’s skin and instead paid more attention to his cultural identity, maybe he would not be in the White House today. The key to understanding him lies with his identification with his father, and his adoption of a cultural and political mindset rooted in postcolonial Africa. I call such frustrated and angry modern Africans who embrace various foreign “isms”, instead of looking homeward for repair of societies that are broken, African Colonials. They are Africans who serve foreign ideas.

Before I continue, I need to say this: I am a first generation born West African-American woman whose parents emigrated to the U.S. in the 1970’s from the country now called Nigeria.

It looks like former SAUSD Trustee Nativo Lopez finally got busted.  Here is what the L.A. Times is reporting:

Felony charges have been filed and an arrest warrant issued for an Orange County political activist suspected of committing election and voter registration fraud, the California secretary of state’s office announced Wednesday.

Investigators in the agency’s election fraud unit said Nativo V. Lopez, 57, of Santa Ana leased office space in Boyle Heights and registered to vote using that address although he lived with his family in Orange County. They also say Lopez, president of the Mexican-American Political Assn., cast an illegal ballot in L.A. in the 2008 presidential primary. Read more…

“With Iran on a razor’s edge after a week of swelling protests, the Obama administration has fended off pressure from both parties to respond more forcefully to the disputed election there. But if Iranian authorities carry out their latest threat of a more sweeping crackdown, the White House would reconsider its carefully calibrated tone, officials said Friday,” according to the New York Times.

How ridiculous.  Will the Neocons never tire of dragging us into needless wars?  If Obama speaks out too negatively against Iran, two things will happen.  The protestors in Iran will be labeled tools of the Americans.  And The Iranian government may well crack down Tianenmen style.  Why would we want either of those outcomes? President Obama unveiled a Reform Plan yesterday that has all the great banking geniuses all a flutter.  Obama initially called for closing down the Office of Thrift Supervision because that agency has been totally ineffective.  President Obama even wants the Credit Card Companies to change all their gobbily gook unintelligle explanation of charges and make them simple and easy to understand for the average consumer. 

The Securities and Exchange Commission, you remember them right - almost lost their aegis over Mutual Funds too!  Obama wants some fundamental change with some fundamental oversight and provisions that will allow “Consumers” a go to place to lodge their complaints.  That being said, it seems all the entrenched banking people find that a little alarming.

For years, they have being paying off these Agencies and not having a problem one.  Remember Bernie Madoff…..his daughter was dating one of the Enforcement guys at the SEC.  That’s how bad it can get!  When they say that “Organized Crime is in bed with Authorities”……we didn’t know that could be taken so literally.  Spinning flax into gold may be next - while having the taxpayer pay for it!  It will pay us to pay attention on this reform. “Times change, and in the case of the 2010 governor’s race, so do political endorsements, apparently. Just ask GOP Rep. John Campbell of Newport Beach: he’s switched his backing. A few months ago, Campbell issued glowing statement endorsing California GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner – and this week, the 48th CD representative issued another glowing endorsement statement, this backing former eBay CEO Meg Whitman,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Interesting move.  Campbell says he initially backed Poizner because Whitman was not yet in the race.  Now that she is a candidate, he appears to like her better.

Or is it that Campbell is facing a serious opponent, for once, in Democratic Irvine Councilwoman Beth Krom - and he could use Whitman’s help?  No doubt she will be appearing in his district to speak glowingly of Campbell. Read more…

Three months ago on 60 Minutes was a segment regarding the Saudi Oil Giant ARAMCO!  Aramco….is a joint venture run by the Saudi’s that makes world policy and sets prices on the world oil supply.  Not China, Not India….Aramco!  In that segment the head of ARAMCO; “His Excellency the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali I. Al-Naimi has announced the appointment of Khalid A. Al-Falih as president and chief executive officer of Saudi Aramco, effective January 1, 2009″

These guys are cute.  During a time when the price of a barrel of oil was broaching below $30 dollars……Al-Naimi told Leslie Stahl that oil was going up to $75 dollars a barrel…..”That you can take to the bank!  We will get what we want for oil - no question!” 

Well fellas and gals….at a time when oil demand is at its lowest and the actual supply is well above any known demand….with oil production down to 2002 levels…….why has the price of oil surged?   Let’s start with US banks and European Central Banks.  These are the same wonderful guys that once greedily invested in so-called “Toxic Assets” - “Super Leveraged Hedge and Derivative Funds” trying to make between 25% to 500% short term profits on investment vehicles that were worthless.  Well, our Government has bailed out many of these guys and as soon as they are able to de-leverage some more of those “bad boyz assets”…..they have/will immediately put their money into commodities…oil in particular.  As T. Well, I hope that the Republicans who have been bashing Muslims and President Barack Obama are happy now.

Yesterday, a mosque that has been around for 13 years, on a quiet street, was attacked by vandals, who “painted death threats, profanity and anti-Muslim slurs on the walls of the Islamic Center of Cypress,” according to the L.A. Times.

This is what all that hate speech adds up to folks…hateful actions.  Shame on Rush Limbaugh and his legion of Talibani Republicans. Read more…

It is important to note that “if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world”. So says President Barack Obama. Or I should say: Barack Hussein Obama.

That’s right: Barack Hussein Obama. Say it proud. Say it out loud. The middle moniker that dared not speak its name during the election campaign is now front and centre of the US president’s attempt to woo the Muslim world, the theme of his visits to Riyadh on Wednesday and Cairo on Thursday.

Now, most of this piece is about how Obama is reaching out to the Muslim world. That’s good. Get them to the negotiation table. Fine. Talk about something other than issues that would mean the end of the state of Israel. Great. But this nonsense about being one of the largest Muslim countries… I mean, Muslims love this country because we are so open minded and democratic. They are some of our most ardent America lovers… and Republicans, as it happens. But there are only about 2.8 million Muslims in America. What the President said is just absolute hyperbole. And quite perplexing. What would make him fabricate something like that?

What does he stand to gain? Meanwhile, Hugo Chavez is afraid he’s more conservative than “Comrade Obama” Plus! 532,000 jobs lost in May and 16,000 everday since the “stimulus” bill. But the economy is coming back…
