The O.C. Register has published a “Voter’s Guide” to the upcoming run-off election in the 72nd Assembly District. I cannot find the article on their website, although it is available to subcribers to their e-Register. So who is going to prevail today in the Special Election in the 72nd Assembly District? This is the race to replace pervy Assemblyman Mike Duvall. The candidates include Libertarian-leaning Supervisor Chris Norby; OC GOP machine candidate Linda Ackerman (who is running as a carpetbagger from Irvine); Democratic candidate John MacMurray, who is a teacher; [...] Too funny! Our inside sources tell us that Ackerwoman has filed an ethics complaint to the GOP Central Committee about a Norby flier supposedly tying her to her husband’s budget deals in Sacto. Yesterday we published an e-mail from Joe Sipowicz about the lame-brain “no tax pledge” signed by Mrs. Linda Ackerman, presumably to shore up uncertainty about her conservative credentials. She needs to. We received an e-mail from our long-time Friend, Joe Sipowicz, yesterday and decided to share it with you. It has Joe’s trademark frankness so please don’t get mad at us. We just pass it along as Joe sent it, with a couple of spelling corrections: We’ve taken a bunch of legitimate shots at Chris Norby’s opponent in the 72nd Assembly District Special Election, Linda Ackerman. You know: she’s doesn’t live in the district; has a fake “residence” with another family on Lindendale; has applied the completely phony “businesswoman” label to herself; has been paid by her husband’s political campaign; and has [...] Just as we reported earlier today about Orange, the Linda Ackerman campaign coughed up some more local endorsements, this time in Redevelopment-friendly Brea – where nobody’s property is safe from the City – if they want it. Here are the two money “quotes”: Our Friend Allan Bartlett who happens to be an OC GOP Central Committee member reports that an anonymous flier was passed out at last night’s meeting attacking Chris Norby – for the bogus sexual harassment suit (filed by a County employee fired for misfeasance), and for allegedly saying bad things about Mexicans. Does Brea Councilman Marty Simonoff have a chance against Supervisor Chris Norby? With the disgrace and unavoidable collapse of our State Assembly-zit Mike Duvall of Yorba Linda, a perfect opportunity has arisen for our termed-out 4th District County Supervisor Chris Norby to step into the picture. Chris has taken some heat here from some of our fellow FFFF bloggers for his County Clerk campaign which to some of them gave [...] Ruh-roh! Chris Norby’s Assemblyman, Mike Duvall, has endorsed his opponent, Hugh Nguyen, for Clerk-Recorder My co-blogger, Larry Gilbert, recently wrote about the possibility that the Brea City Council might raise their local sales tax in order to cover a looming budget shortfall. However Gilbert’s post focused on redevelopment. It did not touch on the reasons that the Brea City Council is in this fix. |
