Apparently Assemblyman Jose Solorio and his fellow Democrats want to raise a toast to Supervisor Janet Nguyen’s victory! Read on…
Please join Assemblyman Jose Solorio and the Orange County Young Democrats at this week’s Drinking Liberally event for a Post-Election Toast to everyone involved in this season’s campaigns.
We hope to see you this Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 8:30 p.m. at Memphis Restaurant located at 201 North Broadway, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
The First Toast beverage will be compliments of Assemblyman Jose Solorio. Cheers!
What a great opportunity for all the Supervisor Nguyen supporters to show up and have a drink on Jose Solorio! (Now we know why he bothered to raise compaign money this year – to get his friends drunk!).
I think I’d rather watch grass grow.
Art —
where did you get the idea that Democrats are celebrating Janet’s win? She’s a lousy supervisor who faced weak competition. This is an event to celebrate Democratic races like Gary Pritchard’s and Debbie Cook’s.
um, your friend Prevatt’s triumphal post, and the number of Dems at Azteca’s.
Kudos Vern!!!
Sean as bitter as you are I am still waiting for you to see the light. Dina losing and the Van Tran machine losing is a cause for all Dems to celebrate. Maybe Barack was right; you are bitter about Hillary and bitter about losing your pal Edgardo. Your political judgement as been way off base. Why don’t you talk to the real Dems who have been fighting the Van Tran Machine for years. (Loretta’s campaign staff or Lou’s). You seem obsessed with blaming everyone except your idiotic backing of Hoa’s campaign. Hoa is not strong in the VN community and Edgardo is a bad campaign manager period. Put down the E Koolaid and look at the results. Edgardo fakes numbers to lie to his candidates so that he can go hang out and eat lunch or go play poker at Hawaiian Gardens. All this talk about struggle and being an outsider is a cover for his bad habbits. Did you go by the campaign office at 6am on Election Day? I did and an hour before the polls opened no one was there to do GOTV work. (Note to Sean GOTV is short hand for Get Out The Vote) Edgardo was too busy gloating over his Pyrrhic victory with the DPOC (4:34 am on election day on OC Blog) then to be commandeering volunteers to go hang door hangars. His pathetic field operation shows that he doesn’t know (umberg, hoa) field and he doesnt know how to do anything besides laze around and intimidate others. Sean talk to someone he really knows campaign/field work. Both Edgardo and Trung Diep are LAZY which results in their candidates getting creamed. Instead of giving Sean things to blog about Edgardo should have kept his eye on the prize. Not smart and not the way to run a sucessful campaign.
Dan,
You really need to invest in a sense of humor. I think the rest of our readers figured it out.
“(Note to Sean GOTV is short hand for Get Out The Vote)”
Really?
Get over yourself already.
Lou and Loretta do get it however. That is why they run their campaigns seperate from the DPOC operation. They know how inept those folks are.
When will you admit that the DPOC blew a chance to take out Janet and put a Dem in that seat? They had no plan when Joe Dunn decided not to run and that shows extremely poor planning on their part.
Maybe some of those crack staffers like Sussman or Tran or former staffers like Berhow should have offered their infinite wisdom and help find an alternative candidate. They according to you know so much, yet the DPOC was left without a candidate until Hoa stepped up.
Hey, here’s an idea…
Let’s toast to the fact that we’re not killing each other anymore!
If James Carville and Bill Frist can settle their differences over a Coke, then we can do it over alcohol, no? Everyone grab their beer goggles and let’s start over.
Viva la general!

Maybe Lou “all for lou and none for you” Correa should have never quit his OC Supervisor seat. I’ve been told he’s lazy and didn’t like all the work the seat required.
c-ya there
Sorry I missed you guys. The sitter changed her mind at the last minute again. Go figure. I guess I’ll never have a life. 🙁

Art didn’t make it, but you missed me, “anonyms”, Little Andrew from our naughty little sister blog, 68th district assembly candidate Ken Arnold, and the LUCAS of course. Oh yeah and Lou Correa, Jose Solorio (who did buy me a drink) and Michelle Martinez. I served my function by introducing Ken to Senator Lou, who was glad to meet the guy running against the Oil Spill Known As Van Thai Tran and is going to have coffee with Ken and advise him. Didn’t see anyone celebrating the Apotheosis of Janet.
