Another CAPO recall in the works?

“Embattled Capistrano Unified Superintendent A. Woodrow Carter was placed on paid administrative leave late Tuesday, angering dozens of his supporters who brandished homemade “recall signs” while threatening to oust trustees,” according to the O.C. Register.

Carter signed a three-year contract worth almost a million dollars before the “reform” members of the Capo School Board were sworn in, after the last Capo recall. It should be noted that one of them, Anna Bryson, voted against putting Carter on leave.

Carter signed his big “contract in March after publicly announcing he would not sign it have raised a firestorm of parent criticism and led to allegations of an attempted cover-up,” according to another Register article.

Capo Unified is struggling with its budget, as are all school districts, so Carter’s huge contract is insulting to a lot of Capo activists. However, his supporters are now looking at recalling the reform members of the School Board – who now control the entire board.

I wonder if this is what new Capo School Board Member Ken Maddox had in mind when he ran for his seat?  Imagine if he ends up getting recalled?  That would put a fork in what is left of his political career.

Too bad we can’t recall the Trustees in the SAUSD – and their equally overpaid ally SAUSD Superintedent Jane Russo.
