I got a call tonight from State Senator Lou Correa, who was wondering why I wasn’t at Tony Bushala’s 50th Birthday Party, at the Commonwealth Lounge in Fullerton. Apparently his wife, Freydel, did email me but Lord knows what happened to that email. However, thanks to Lou my wife and I drove up to Fullerton and joined a huge party in celebrating Tony’s birthday.
Tony is a businessman in Fullerton and he is one of our bloggers. He has his own blog, Friends for Fullerton’s Future, which started late last year and recently tallied its first 10,000 visits. Tony is as big a troublemaker in Fullerton as I am in Santa Ana… But he is also a great guy – and he has a lot of friends.
Supervisor Chris Norby was at the party tonight too, as was Fullerton Mayor Sharon Quirk and Fullerton Councilman Shawn Nelson. O.C. Register editorial writer Steven Greenhut was there too, as was blogger and former Register editorial writer John Seiler. And I also had a chance to chat with O.C. Planning Commissioner Dave Zenger.
I also met Tony’s family – his dad, mom, brother and sister. Great family! Everyone had a fantastic time. Freydel did a great job putting together a truly fantastic surprise party for Tony.
Happy Birthday Tony!
Art, did I tell you that back in the day Lou and I worked together as bus boys at The Orangefair Restaurant in Fullerton, that’s when we both had hair and wore bell bottoms. Thanks for all the kind words, you and your lovely wife’s appearance made my 50th complete ! ! !
I’ll bet you’ve still got those bell bottoms in a drawer somewhere. The hair? Well….
I think my platform shoes are somewhere in the lobby of my office, but the moths got the best of my bell bottoms a few years back.
