Editor’s Note: You may have noticed that our blogger Vern Nelson has been absent since late December. Vern is going through some personal issues right now and we hope he will be back soon. In the meantime I found a few drafts that Vern was working on. He predicted that Al Franken would be the next Senator from Minnesota. In fact he saved this post back on December 19. Vern – you were right! This one’s for you my friend.
Sorry Art, you’re calling this one way too early. The election showed Norm Coleman a winner. Should we have stopped there? Then why stop at the recount? Just because you like the outcome? I know you may not care about Al Franken’s politics, you’re just looking forward to the amusement of writing about Senator Franken for six years… ok, me too. But still, dont jump the gun.
Minnesota law has THREE (3) distinct steps. And the issues raised in the first two steps have not even been dealt with yet. I cannot find a single credible source that says Al Franken WON the election.
The Canvassing Board actions have no more validity on the election than election night results. This is the kind of sloppy electioneering logic I expect from the mainstream press.
Check your facts.
This is the kind of Democrat bs that just pisses me off. Like Florida. Lose recount after recount, until you come up with one where you appear ahead and say “Thats it! It’s over!”
Terry,
C’mon Terry. With Obama in the White House and the Dems in control of both houses of the Congress, do you really expect Coleman to prevail? No way my friend. He is toast.
Art and Terry this was a recount triggered automatically by Minnesota state election law, had and has NOTHING to do with partisan politics. Terry you might expand your “sources” by pulling your head out of your backside.
Vern Nelson is away because of “personal issues”? Is he hitting the bottle again?
