Is this the end of “Jerbal?” One of my readers noted that the “Jerbal” name is missing over at the Red Clownty blog. Sure enough, it would appear that Red Clownty editor Matt Cunningham has at last dropped his anon name, years after the O.C. Weekly outed him. Gone is the “Jerbal.”
I am also told that earlier today a different Red Clownty blogger was noted as their editor. Our former blogger Chris Emami briefly was identified as the new Red Clownty editor.
What is up at Red Clownty? Are they finally understanding how much they have damaged themselves by their late reporting of the Fullerton Tax Protest and their very late reporting of the ridiculous endorsement of Democrat Tom Daly, by Red-faced clown John Lewis?
Or did the dam break when John and Ken ripped Red Clownty for twenty minutes on their radio show this week? That show has over 670,000 listeners! All of them were told that Red Clownty is a blog for “political hacks” and “Kool Aid drinkers.”
So is this curtains for “Jerbal?”
It’s a weird looking set-up but maybe it’s a work in progress. I found this post from last week, however:
An Enhanced Red County Is On The Way

Red County will be introducing a brand new site next week. A new look, new features the addition of new contributors, plus a few surprises, are all part of the exciting changes in store at Red County. We fully intend to provide readers with the very best online source for regional political news and commentary and our redesigned site is just the start.
From all-star contributors to video and podcast programs to community-building features, we’re excited about the re-design that’s coming in just a few days. Since it will represent a change for our readers, however, we wanted to give you a sneak peak at what is coming.
We would like to thank our readers for their support and we look forward to making Red County your primary source for political news. Stay tuned!
Well, I guess everytime that Jerbi gets called out by John and Ken the site gets additional hits. That might be seen as some kind of odd upside.
Not a real great strategy if you want to be taken seriously in the political world. But maybe it’s just the best he can do as he self-destructs online.
😉
Who funds the red-faced blog? What is King Clown Lewis doing for income these days? Does Jerbal have a day job?
Maybe Art should change the name of this blog to “Red County Juice,” but that”s all you seem to write about recently.
If I want to know what’s happening at Red County, I can go to Red County. This obsession of yours is getting ridiculous,, Art.
Old OJ, if you haven’t noticed, Art’s focus has been on exposing the lack of principles displayed by the “Red Clownty” and company.
Apparently, he got through to the higher ups, and as you can see the Jubal is gone!
Great job Art, you wounded the “Octopus”.
RIP Jerbie.
We would like to thank our readers for their support and we look forward to making Red County your primary source for political news. Stay tuned!
OH MY GOD….”primary source for political news”, Say it ain’t so. Are there really people who get all their info from RED STATE!!! HAHAHAHA!!! Hey “Old OJ”, it’s hard NOT to make fun of the guy when he can’t seem to keep his foot out of his mouth. I’ve had a helluva good time sparring with old Jerbie/Jubal/Cunningham! The guy just BEGS to be made fun of! He is a good example of what’s wrong with the GOP, and why they don’t appeal to the Center anymore. I’ll miss old Jerbie though. Some people are just fun to piss off. Now, I have to call him…….Matt?…..BOOORRRING!
Mike W
“Red Clownty” HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Gotta love it.
What the hell happened to the display of oc blog? I get aheadache looking at it now. Not a very user friendly format.
So is it true that Matt is no longer the editor? What other major changes have been made? I dont like the new set up. Its hard on the eyes.
Tony, I know what Art thinks he is doing. Thanks, but I’m smart enough to make up my own mind.
My point is all these “Jerbal” posts make you guys look silly and hard to take seriously. I don’t think it has the slightest effect on Red County, but Art comes off as petty and fixated.
It used to be you could find some interesting information here, but this constant Red County/Jubal bashing is getting annoying, and there’s less reason to come here.
RIP Jerbal.
Old OJ, I understand that those of you who do not find the Jerbal/Lewis/Daly issue that interesting can get bored real quick with all the back and forth. I for one, however, found it very revealing that the back door plan so many on this blog were suspicious of appears to have been true.
It looks like the owners of the Red County brand figured out that that rat they smelled really was a Jerbal and they did something about it.
Matt (Jerbal) Cunningham could hardly call this a victory. Art’s pressure and those that have been on this since the issue started to stink up Red County really have forced it to boil over. Jerbal could have and would have been a shill for Lewis throughout the entire ’10 election.
By staying on issue and forcing the Jerbal into the light we have all been spared from at least part of another John Lewis scam.
Congrats Art.
This is from Shawn Nelson’s law firm’s website:
“Nelson & Rizio specializes in sex crimes at both the state and federal level. We have generated very impressive results in the defense of pandering and prostitution charges.
We thank you for visiting the website of California Pimping and Pandering Law Defense Attorney, Lawyer.”
Maybe Tony Bushala and Art Pedroza would care to comment on how their hero makes a living defending sex criminals.
Gee, Fullerton Watcher, somebody defends those who are innocent until proven guilty. The horror! Maybe we should make everybody get a public defender!
I doubt the voters will be as understanding as you, Mr. Zenger.
They may not be, if that’s the route another candidate chooses to take. But if the gloves really come off then lots of dirty laundry is likey to be aired – if you’ll pardon the mixed metaphor.
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
David,
I just examined Nelson’s website and the language that the anon commenter above referenced does not exist. However the language does appear on a blog affiliated with Nelson’s law firm.
The fact is, the OC GOP needs defense lawyers who specialize in sex crimes, given that the OC GOP produced Mike Carona and George Jaramillo, and Jerbal defended John Urell – who covered up for pederasts.
At least we now know that the Lewis team is going to play very dirty.
Good. Bring it on cabrones!
Let your readers judge for themselves.

Nelson chooses to defend sex criminals, drunk drivers and sex criminals. Republicans deserve to know this going in.
Very revealing to see that is fine with Mr. Pedroza.
Tony Bushala is unusually quiet about this.
