What has happened to Santa Ana? We have had plenty of carjackings over the last year – but the latest one turned into a home invasion robbery!
“A resident reported that he was driving in his car on Sheffield Street at about 9:30 a.m. when three men in a small SUV forced him to pull over, according to Commander Steve Colon. The three men then ordered the victim at gunpoint to take them to his home in the 2900 block of South Baker Street,” according to the O.C. Register.
This crime started in the Riverview West Neighborhood. It ended in the Sunwood Central neighborhood. The poor family that was robbed had to endure an almost seven mile drive, with the robbers in their car, while they headed for their home, where their belongings were ransacked and robbed.
This is ridiculous! Doesn’t this sound like something that would happen in Ciudad Juarez? That this sort of thing is happening here, in “Orange County’s Downtown” is awful. Is Mayor Miguel Pulido ever going to hold a press conference to explain his plan to save our city? Does he even have a plan? Will he ever apologize for telling voters last year that Santa Ana is one of the “safest cities in Orange County?” That turned out to be quite a whopper!
Maybe we all need CCW permits in this town?
UPDATE:
One of the bad guys has been caught, according to the O.C. Register. Here is an excerpt from their newest article:
Garden Grove police assisted Santa Ana police in locating a suspect, Humberto Alatorre. Alatorre, 34, is being held at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery, carjacking, burglary and committing a felony while in possession of a firearm, police said. Bail has been set at $1 million. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are trying to locate the resident’s car, a white 1998 Ford Escort with license plate 3XRA546.
GOOD THING I RIDE THE BUS!
#1,
Just be careful when you are waiting for the bus. I am hearing of many robberies of folks who are waiting for the bus.
Be particularly careful after dark…
THAKS “ART” I WILL …..
Those two areas of Santa Ana are as diff as night and day.
What is someone from one of Santa Ana’s high rent areas doing in a low rent residential neighborhood?
Recall Miguel Pudrido !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What would happen to a Chief of Police in any other local municipality who failed so miserably in his job. As the highest paid police chief in Orange County (by far), Santa Ana Police Chief Walters is a shining example of the failures and greed that permeate Santa Ana’s executive management team. Ream, Pulido and Walters have dragged Santa Ana to it’s lowest level. Come on City Council, see the problems as they really are instead of how these three tell you it is, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! There are so many more qualified individuals to choose from.
