Judy Chu trounced Gil Cedillo, in yesterday’s special election in the 32nd Congressional District, by over four thousand votes. Click here to see the final results.
Chu ended up with just over 15,000 votes while Cedillo got just over 11,000 votes. Cedillo was definitely hurt by Emanuel Pleitez, a young Latino candidate who many feel was recruited into this race by Judy Chu’s handlers. Cedillo attacked Pleitez during the campaign, but that may have backfired. Cedillo now crawls back to the State Senate to finish out his term.
Chu got 31.9% of the vote so now she will have to face off with the top Republican candidate, Betty Chu, who got just over 5,000 votes.
The Libertarian candidate, Chris Agrella, got almost 600 votes and beat out four Democrats.
So the runoff race will be a Chu-Chu race? Hmm. I couldn’t resist.
But how will I chu-chu choose you?
so now i have to chus between chu and chu
GOOD BYE ONE BILL GIL = FINALLY
I would like to engage in a dialogue with open minded individuals. First let’s step back in history.
when president Obama left the U.S. Senate he was replaced with an African American- When Supervisor Burk termed out replacement was Ridley Thomas
When Congresswoman McDonald died replacement Laura Richardson. Now I see that the Democratic party in the state of California has no respect for its Latino Democrats not only did they endorse a totally different persona who does not technically represent the CA-32 but now it has been revealed that she is another “Pay to Play political head. Judy has been pushing for the toll road (San Bernadino 10 carpool lane will become a toll) I was in Azusa and herd it myself ” I will make the toll road my first priority when I reach Congress” So let’s return to the issue regarding the region, county and state Democratic party just pissed on all the Latino Democrats who live in the San Gabriel Vally-After years of strugeling and fighting for civil rights and representation. Having to prove that we are just as good, just as smart and just as deserving to have equal constitutional rights the blanket of civil liberties has been ripped away and we let i happen. Latinos in the San Gabriel Valley- This is very sad and very disheartening that the Democratic party disregarded the fact that the economy and small businesses are driven by Latinos! We have been dictated to again just like the 60’s and 70’s the same sentiment” there is no place for you at the decision making table” The Democratic Party dictated whom they wanted. Did anyone understand this? Why did we allow this to slip away without contemplating the ramifications of this action.
Think people who have sons and daughters with have asperations in becoming national leaders what a shame it looks like we fell back 30 years and we allowed it to happen. I am not the only Latino who feels this way I have had conversations with others and the Democratic Party is in for a surprise. Don’t bother asking us folks for contributions don’t ask us to phone bank and please stop with your stories of inclusion cause you have pissed all over a whole group of voters who are just about disgusted with your leadership in the California Democratic Party. Now if the Dems would have done this to Laura Richardson or Ridley Thomas Well Rev. Sharpton Jessy Jackson and the African Congressional Caucus would have protested and been on every major TV station. So if you have thought about what really happened on May 19 aqnd line in the San Gabriel Valley you know that we have to vote again on July 19> So really think about it If Judy Chu win well Latinos that Congressional seat is gone forever! If you vote for Betty Chu well she is older probably just complete two terms. So we organize secure a reputable leader and regain the seat. Think about it! I nor my family nor my friends can afford the new taxes also you never raise taxes when so many people are out of work.
