The FBI just released their latest crime statistics and sure enough, Santa Ana is still number one in violent crime in Orange County – by a wide margin.
“Santa Ana, the county’s most populous city, saw a decrease of 11 percent in violent crime, although the number of murders, forcible rapes and robberies increased,” according to the O.C. Register.
Meanwhile, Irvine registered the lowest number of violent crimes per capita in the country for a city with a population of more than 100,000, prompting city officials to declare it for the fifth consecutive year, “America’s Safest City.”
So what should we call Santa Ana? Orange County’s most dangerous city?
Don’t forget that Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido told us last year while campaigning that Santa Ana was the “safest city in Orange County.” I don’t think so Miguel!
No really?????????????
Safest city in Orange County?
It’s amazing that there are politico’s who will say anything assuming that most residents are not paying attention to these MINOR discrepancies.
Why should we be surprised? Look at the great turnout in last month’s Special Election which should be a clue as to voter apathy on the issues.
OMG!!! LIERS LIERS!!!!!! BS!
While Chief Walters and his Executive Inspector (Sergeant) milk the city of $200K + salaries, the rest of us suffer. Corrupt
Well, it sure looks like both Santa Ana & Anaheim must seriously move forward to quell the violent crime statistics for the future! Let’s start with the city councils and the police departments!
Art,
BAD BAD LIBERAL YOU CENSORED ME!!!
BAD BAD:(
Michele,
Maybe you thought you wrote something but didn’t?
the decrease occurred in the assault column by quite a bit.
Good, I hope it continues to go down, next year.
Good article
I love writing on your blog so much, that over the weekend in Chicago i wrote on your blogg, three posts!!
You have never censored me before, so lets just say it was an oops!
Michelle,
I cannot find the deleted post. It must have gotten into our spam folder. Sorry!
“You have never censored me before, so lets just say it was an oops!”
I am pretty much the only one around here who gets cranky and will delete choice offensive posts here and there after multiple warnings.
YOU’ve never crossed that line, so it would seem that your lost posts were just some kind of internet accident. As an aside, I fished out two of ART PEDROZA’s posts from the spam filter over the weekend. I forgot to mention that to him, so maybe he’ll see this message today.
It was weird. I have no idea what that was all about!
Welcome back!
