O.C. Clerk-Recorder Candidate Chris Norby and failed GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney

I just found out that “Chris Norby is the scheduled speaker at the next meeting of the 68th Assembly District Democrats,” on Monday, July 20, according to their Acting Vice Chair, Jim Benson. Their monthly meetings are held at Carrow’s Restaurant, at the corner of Magnolia and Warner in Huntington Beach, the 3rd Monday every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 pm and the meeting starts at 7:00pm.
How interesting! Norby has had to reach out to Democrats before, as an ostensibly non-partisan Supervisor, but his campaign for Clerk-Recorder is in the hands of GOP consultant John Lewis. Norby is endorsed by right-wing Republicans including:
- Former Republican State Chairman Michael Schroeder
- Former Republican State Chairman Shawn Steel
- Assemblyman Chuck Devore
And of course Norby is backed by disgraced OC Public Administrator John Williams!
The 68th Assembly District Democrats should ask Norby if he is going to back Costa Mesa Councilman Allan Mansoor for the 68th Assembly District. And they should ask him if he endorsed Prop. 8. They should also ask Norby how he feels about President Barack Obama’s health care plan.
Norby has been described as “quite simply bat crazy” by the Democrats over at the Liberal OC blog.
The Liberal OC also posted an astounding exchange involving Norby, which reveals that he may not have very warm feelings for his Latino constituents:
“Attorney H. Bryan Card pointed me in the direction of the sexual harassment case of Pamela Mokler against Chris Norby from 2005. In a sworn testimony on March 7, 2005 Ms. Mokler claimed that Supervisor Norby had said to her on one occasion when she was discussing outreach programs targeting Latino seniors “Why the f**k do you have to do something special for Mexicans?”
Why indeed? So there is another good question for Norby. As Clerk-Recorder will he do ANYTHING to reach out to Orange County’s diverse communities?
