Senate votes to stop Drivers protection from State to State.

In a little known Vote this week the US Senate voted 58 – 32 to eliminate protections for drivers, crossing into other states.  Amazingly, the US Senate decided that with over 25,000 Vehicle Deaths on the US Highways every year, they would no longer force one state to accept the drivers license of another state, you could now get taken to jail for driving your car to Nevada, EVEN IF YOU DID NOTHING WRONG! It was decided that each State must contact other states and decide whose drivers license they would like to accept, and whose they won’t.

The “reasoning” Behind this is every state has different criteria for issuance of a license, and for keeping and retesting for that license. In some states you may drive as young as 14, and in some you must be 17, or 18. The thought that I will somehow be safer here in Orange County, because some 14 year old in Idaho, “may” drive down here and get into a wreck is just plain stupid.

Please, this must be stopped! Call our senators, and congressmen, and tell them to ”Vote for Nationwide Reciprocity” and lets make sure that all law abiding drives can go from state to state without being thrown in Jail, even if they didn’t break the law!
