God weighs in on abortion, transgendered procedures and His position on Obamacare. Here is a feisty quote from the comments section after viewing the video clip:
Isn’t funny how this is a “Christian” country when it comes to war, homosexuality, stem cell research, abortion, etc. But when it comes to the biggest biblical take away (helping others) theres nothing….There are 300+ biblical references about taking care of the sick, the hungry, the poor, the “least of these” yet where the public outrage!? Oh but people being gay~! lets spend all our time on something mentioned maybe 10 times…
In Minnesota, there is a tea party movement that is encouraging conservative Christians to swamp town hall meetings. Minnesota’s religious right leaders say that the health care reform package is against God’s plan for health care and that Christians should go to community forums and “read them the riot act.” More at this LINK
Hmmm… These “religious” organizations seem to be blurring the line between separation of church and state. They look like prime targets for having their land and income taxed like the rest of us who have political opinions and are not considered tax-exempt.
What would Jesus say about all this?
Who would Jesus shout down at the town hall meeting? Which riot act would he read to the gathering?
Travis,
You think that Jesus would be advocating for health care for all, or do you think he’d oppose it?
If God did not want us to have doctors would we?
Do you think God would limit care to only those who could afford it or had insurance?
Would God limit care like the insurance companies try to do to only healthy people?
If that is your God I will pray for you, it is
certainly not mine
BTW- What is God’s health care plan, can you tell me where to find it ?
To suggest that we shape our government around Christ’s personal mission is nothing more than theocracy.
Oh then, you’d probably have a problem with what all is being said by the religious right to storm the townhall meetings on HC and “read them the riot act” b/c it is AGAINST GOD’S PLAN, right?
Do you think that political advocacy by a church or other religious organization should be forbidden?
This isn’t Iran is it? Nice set-up Red, but your humor is lost on the OC. Where’s Wiley?
Welcome Artist 😉
Travis, You are a dodgy one!
Members of any religion should be able to support or oppose any proposal by the government.
Jesus said himself that render unto Ceaser that which is his and unto God that which is his. He seemed to favor the seperation of Church and State, unless the State forced an individual person to do things they found to be a violation of thier moral values.
Nobody seems to dispute we need to give people a hand up and some help getting health care. I agree the devil is in the details.
Who said it begins and ends with Jesus/ What about Mohomed and Bhudda, What aboutthe Hindu God and what ever happened to the Church Of Monday Night Football?
While I am Catholic, I am sick of the Bible thumping Christians imposing thier views.
I ask Garry Miller and the other SO CAL congressmen (and Women) do Islamic views deserve equal consideration? If not Why?
God make’s no mistakes, you Red, are no smarter than the homeless man on the street. The only difference is that you choose to be responsible in life.
God said give your fellow man a drink, he did not say give him the river!
No God would not want you to take from someone who works for his health insurance and give it to someone who does not!
“God make’s no mistakes, you Red, are no smarter than the homeless man on the street. The only difference is that you choose to be responsible in life.”
No Michelle, unfortunately, all man are NOT created equal.
All men, have the potential, some choose not to use it!
Some people might be born brighter, but brightness does not always = success.
