Supervisor Chris Norby has landed a big endorsement in his race to replace disgraced Assemblyman Mike Duvall, in the 72nd Assembly District. Norby has picked up the support of Congressman Tom McClintock, who like Norby is a Libertarian-leaning tax-fighter.
In related news, Norby’s opponent, Linda Ackerman, is in some hot water. Shey may have to step down from her post as RNC Committeewoman. “Under Section 2.03.01(B) of the California Republican Party’s bylaws, any person who holds elected office at the county, state or federal level — or is a candidate for office at that level — “shall not be eligible to seek or hold a regular elected office” of the California GOP. The section goes on to state that once an official in the California Republican Party becomes a candidate at the county, state or federal level he loses his position with the Republican Party,” accordingn to Total Buzz.

CONSERVATIVE ICON AND TAXPAYER CHAMPION TOM McCLINTOCK ENDORSES CHRIS NORBY FOR STATE ASSEMBLY
FULLERTON, CA – Congressman Tom McClintock today endorsed the candidacy of Orange County Supervisor Chris Norby in Norby’s campaign to fill the vacancy recently created in the 72nd Assembly District.
Tom McClintock’s endorsement “will galvanize voters who are fed up with go along get along politicians and will markedly influence this election” commented Norby spokesman John Lewis.
Tom McClintock, after reviewing the list of declared and prospective candidates called his endorsement of Chris Norby “a clear and easy choice.” It is expected that Tom McClintock will play an active role in this election.
For years Tom McClintock and Chris Norby have worked together on various issues defending private property rights and various issues opposing the expansion of government power and programs.
Chris Norby, commenting on the key endorsement he had just received stated, “I am honored and humbled by the endorsement of Tom McClintock, Tom is an inspiration to those who love liberty and despair over what the big spenders and special interests have done to our state.”
The 72nd Assembly District vacancy was declared upon the resignation of Mike Duvall. The 72nd Assembly District includes the cities of Fullerton, Yorba Linda, Placentia, Brea, Orange, La Habra and Anaheim and approximately 70% of the Fourth Supervisor District (currently represented by Norby) is included within its boundaries.

Chris Norby should get the job, no doubt about it. The only thing wrong with this announcement is having John Lewis’ name on it. Norby should dump that unprincipled creep.
McClintock has his fans, but he was never successful in building consensus in Sacramento for most all of his views. Some would say that equates to being ineffective, though outspoken. If Norby gets this Assembly post, he will fit that same mold – talking a lot about what ought to be, but getting little to nothing done. If that is what the voters want ——-
Tom doesn’t just endorse the closest screen door…so it is a great honor for Professor Norby.
Go get ’em Chris……a waiting public…is, well,
waiting!
I do not believe Norby is any better than Duvall. As a former jr high student in Norby’s history class, it comes to no surprise to me that he has had more than one sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him. At Brea Jr High he was infamous amongst the students for standing over his female students to look down their shirts, & for the fact that he would stare at his female students breasts. I’m not passing on long ago school gossip here, this is something the man did to me, and to many other female students I knew. I never had another male teacher that gave me the creeps the way that Norby did, or that made me feel as uncomfortable as he did. IMHO the man is a pervert. I would NEVER vote for him.
“Former student?” Does this “former student” have a name?
