GARDEN GROVE, Calif.–With a diverse and growing nationwide donor base, the campaign for Quang Pham, Republican Candidate for Congress in California’s 47th District, reported receipts totaling $126,358, including personal contributions for the financial report period ending September 30, 2009. This marked Pham’s first Federal Elections Commission (FEC) quarterly report as a candidate. Cash on hand was $117,638.

Pham’s primary opponent, a career politician in an adjacent state assembly district, raised $91,000 while seven-term Democrat Loretta Sanchez reported $137,945.

“I have been humbled by the outpouring of support from both old and new friends,” commented Quang Pham. “The message we are hearing loud and clear is that people are ready for new leadership for Central Orange County. While I was busy running a business, my opponents, who are professional politicians, were literally fundraising full time.”

Two days ago, the California Legislature received a 13% approval rating, its lowest in a quarter of a century according to the Field Institute. Last week the U.S. Congress received a 21% approval rating according to Gallup. “The last thing voters want is more of the same entrenched and seat-jumping politicos who have accomplished nothing,” said campaign consultant Joe Giardiello.

In addition, the campaign also launched a new multimedia-rich Web site to extend its reach to voters and connect with backers.

A resident of Orange County for two decades, Quang Pham is a business owner, published author, community leader and decorated Marine Corps veteran running for Congress. For more information, please visit www.PhamForCongress.com.
