On Monday October 19th the Mission Viejo city council will vote on Agenda Item #20 which brings us the next phase in the recall of councilman Lance MacLean.
The Resolution reads:
Shall Lance MacLean be recalled (removed) from the office of city council member

Candidates to succeed Lance MacLean if he is recalled, for the duration of his term ending December 6, 2010

A “Special Municipal” election to be held on February 2, 2010
Candidates can submit an optional 200 word candidate statement which has an estimated cost of $1,624.
Filings. Candidate Nominating papers will begin on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 and will continue through Thursday, November 19, 2009.
The election results (are) to be certified by the ROV no later than March 2, 2010.
Based on a successful recall the declaration of results and installation of a newly elected council member will be tentatively (be) scheduled for (the) March 1, 2010 or March 15, 2010 city council meeting.
Gilbert comment: As the mayor reads these Juice posts, let’s see what changes, if any, occur at the Monday October 19th meeting.
