The anti-gay marriage Bush adviser Karl Rove has dumped his wife of 24 years
Well how do you like that? Karl Rove, the former adviser to President George W. Bush, is dumping his wife of 24 years, Darby, as they are getting divorced.
Rove, whose stepfather Louis Rove came out of the closet late in life, has a long history of bashing gay marriage. Check out this Rove quote:
”ROVE: Well, marriage is a very important part of our culture and our society. If we want to have a hopeful and decent society, we ought to aim for the ideal. And the ideal is that marriage ought to be and should be a union of a man and a woman. And we cannot allow activist judges to overturn that. We cannot allow activist local elected officials to thumb their nose at 5,000 years of human history and determine that marriage is something else.” (Fox News)
So gay marriage is bad, but dumping your wife after 24 years is OK? Typical Republican hater…
reminds me of my friend Emily Prager who wrote in the 1990’s about G.HW Bush’s son in law being caught with dope:
“Dodo, Dodo, those rules are’nt for us….Their for the blakies and brownies” GHWB
Would have been nice if he had held on for 25 but 24 years is respectable.
Rove certainly has an interesting notion about what constitutes a “traditional” marriage. Apparently that includes multiple divorces…carried out in the State of Texas, where one can get divorced for basically no reason at all, no less. Ahhh yes, tradition indeed.
