World War II Cartoonist – Bill Mauldin and Willie & Joe US Stamp
US Post Office will be honoring Bill Mauldin, WWII Cartoonist with his own US stamp.
This is a rare and timely honor! Why?
Very few individuals get this honor.
And This is still a timely honor not for Bill Mauldin (it would have been nice if we had received it when he was alive), but because of the generation he cartooned or drew about.
He was of the World War II era. In the year 2000, there were about 500,000 veterans from WWII. Now there are around 200,000 and we lose about 900-1,200 DAILY because of their advancing age.
