ORANGE COUNTY DEPUTY TREASURER KEITH RODENHUIS WINS IN FRIVOLOUS LAWSUIT FILED BY POLITICAL OPPONENT

“Ms. Freidenrich needs to be careful as her actions may give rise to a SLAPP suit”

Santa Ana (CA)— Deputy Treasurer, and candidate for Orange County Treasurer-Tax Collector, Keith Rodenhuis announced today that Judge Glenda Sanders tossed out all claims filed against his candidacy for office by his political opponent Shari Freidenrich.

“I am happy, but not surprised by the decision. This suit was frivolous and a waste of the court’s time and taxpayer’s money,” Deputy Treasurer Rodenhuis said. “This is not the kind of leadership Orange County wants or needs in a time of fiscal stress.”

The lawsuit, filed in Orange County Superior Court, claimed that Rodenhuis did not meet the qualifications to run for County Treasurer and that he could not use his title of Deputy Treasurer on the ballot. After a full day of testimony, Judge Sanders ruled that there was no merit to these claims and threw out the lawsuit.

“This lawsuit was frivolous on its face and should never have been filed,” said Deputy Treasurer Rodenhuis, who is also an attorney. “Ms. Freidenrich and the political insiders who support her, need to be careful as their actions may give rise to a SLAPP suit.”
