Two Great New Local Blogs

For your bookmarking consideration:

The Surf City Voice

This new project from Huntington Beach rabble-rouser John Earl (of Orange Coast Voice fame)  focuses on political news and entertainment in our home town, and it’s really well-done and fun.  Latest entries include

  • Invaluable coverage of what’s shaping up to be Orange County’s latest taxpayer ripoff of epic proportions:  the proposed Poseidon desalination plant, which will not only be harmful to the ocean and HB neighborhoods, but is already demanding public subsidies (see pliant HB councilmembers in Tim Pham cartoon to right.)
  • Coverage of HB’s recent War on Coyotes.
  • Cowabunga” –  hard-hitting but hilarious ongoing coverage of HB’s buffoonish Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, the “man who invented surfing.”
  • and much more.

The new, improved OC Progressive

I know OCP has been around a year, but you won’t recognize it after the makeover OJ friend and HB council candidate Joe Shaw has put it thru (where does he find the time?)  It’s much easier on the eyes, much easier to comment on, and features:

We welcome these new voices to the OC blogosphere, and look forward to co-operating with them in, to use the words of Wikileaks’ Julian Assange, “crushing some bastards.”  Let us know in comments if there are any other new blogs we should take note of…
