Fullerton Planning Commissioner Bruce Whitaker files for special election

Bruce Whitaker

On November 2nd there will be two different city council elections held in Fullerton. Yes, that’s correct.
With former Fullerton councilman Shawn Nelson’s victory over Harry Sidhu in the June primary to replace 4th District Board of Supervisors Member Chris Norby, the city is conducting a “special election” to complete the final two years of his term. The regular election, for full 4 year terms, will decide who will be victorious where two seats will be contested and decided.

While we shall have to wait until after 5 p.m. on Friday to see all candidate statements, Bruce has confirmed receiving several early endorsements including:

Former Fullerton Councilman Shawn Nelson, 72nd Assembly District Member Chris Norby, U.S. Representative Ed Royce and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, HJTA PAC.

Prior to becoming Assemblyman Norby’s Assembly District Director Bruce served over 7 years as Supervisor Norby’s Policy Advisor.

Note: Supervisor Nelson will be in a runoff election on Nov 2nd as he failed get over 50% of the vote.
