From Beth Krom:
Dear Vern,
It’s been said that 90% of success is just showing up. My opponent, John Campbell, disagrees.
He never shows up, and he doesn’t care who knows it. He thinks he owns this Congressional seat. I guess that’s why he never bothers to meet with city leaders, hold public town halls or attend public events.
He’ll show up to collect a paycheck at taxpayer expense, but he’ll never show up to debate during a campaign. That’s just plain wrong.
He doesn’t like to show up for votes either. He’s missed 314 votes since he took office – more than 100 in the past twelve months alone. When Congress was voting on the Jobs Bill, he was at a car show in Florida. Who knows where he was when Congress was voting to extend the first-time homebuyer’s tax credit, expand the GI Bill for our veterans or appropriate funding border security. He just had more important things to do, I guess.
I’ve seen firsthand what a poor representative John Campbell is. During my four years as Mayor of Irvine, he never once came to City Hall to meet with me, never once attended a public event, and never even sent a letter of congratulations when Irvine was recognized as the “Safest Big City in America” four years in a row. He just couldn’t be bothered.
That’s why I’m running! But it’s not my opinion that matters most in this election, it’s yours.
We need smart, courageous leadership to move America forward. If you’re tired of politicians who won’t even bother to show up, please contribute $25, $50, $100 or more TODAY! When I go to Congress, I’ll do the job you elect me to do. That’s a promise.
Sincerely,
Beth Krom
Candidate for Congress (CA 48)
Beth Krom for Congress
And where’s Don Wanker? Is there some sort of Bermuda triangle in Newport Beach that makes Republican candidates disappear? Or are they like Meg Whitman, who is discovering that the more people see her, the less they like her.
I heard they were floating out to sea atop Ken Calvert. Or maybe I dreamed that.
BINGO! Me thinks you have figured out the equation Mayor Quimby! The more we see of Campbell, the less we like him. Perhaps he is running for cover because he knows his constituents are waiting to throw rotten fruit at his head. I’m gonna call him right now and give him one more invite to the debate. UCI students don’t take to kindly to being stood up without a good reason.
ok… called office in DC, they said call office in OC. Called office in OC, they said call campaign management. Called campaign management and they said they would have to transfer me to this voice mail and leave a message or send an email.
As we have already done this several times… I take offense.
So, guess what? Here’s the number to call. You can ALL invite him out. Please be polite.

Perhaps I will put this on a flier? Have fun kids!
John Campbell has been ignoring his constituents. He needs to explain why he has missed over 300 votes, continues to support offshore drilling, and why he is persistent with his Birther bill when he can just look at Obama’s birth certificate himself : http://mariopiperni.com/obama-birth-certificate. I will attend the 48th Congressional District Debate on October 13th, just hopes he too shows up.
Actually, this is a better view of Obama’s birth certificate. Hope you like it John Campbell! http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/06/obamas_birth_certificate_yes_h.php
Dancing Dem.
Having just returned from Hawaii I purchased a book in Kona with copies of both Obama’s birth certificate and Birth announcement as published in The Sunday Advertiser Aug 13, 1961.
I am tempted to photo shop it and change a few dates to have some fun.
The title of the magazine book is OBAMALAND, birthplace of the 44th President of the U.S.A.
We Republicans will have some fun looking at the photos and reading the background of our effective community organizer who never held a real job as he takes us down a road to depression where the market will hit 5,000 before it hits 15,000. Did he pledge to keep our unemployement under 8 percent? One question. Where in this state, or any other for that matter, where our unemployment is that low?
Larry. This post is not about Obama and you should know better than to violate our rules.
Yes, Vern
?? THAT’S not the kind of thing I say, Juice Brother!
That’s the kind of thing YOU say.
Welcome back!
Brother Vern. It is good to be back only to get caught up in our city council race with 12 candidates fighting for three seats. Sadly Dan Avery pulled papers yet failed to turn them in. That campaign would have been a great story to cover and he knows it.
Knowing I would catch some flack for my CUSD election post I added a guest view to anger the troops. As “W” would add “Mission Accomplished.”
Way to go Beth! Stick it to him! John Campbell is probably afraid that you and Mike Binkley are going to rip him to shreds in any debate!
Calling John now!
Campbell and Wagner, are premier douchebags who obviously believe they are safer being in a Republican area and staying under a rock. If they come out in the sunshine, they may actually say something that’s not a Norquist soundbite and be exposed as the theocratic cretins that they are.
Maybe Campbell has Gone Galt.
John Campbell is definitely a parasite to taxpayers. But is BETH KROM the very best the Democrats could do???? I think I will have to vote 3rd party on this one.
Check out the article in The OC Weekly called “Hot Air”. On the cover is Larry Agran floating in a balloon. The fact is Beth Krom (and Sukhee Kang) rubber stamp whatever Larry wants.
If Krom is elected she will surely divert federal tax dollars to the alleged “Great Park” even though there were multiple campaign promises that “no taxes” would be used for the park. The airport proponents claimed the park would require a lot of taxes. Unfortunately, Agran and the gang are proving them correct.
GOOOOOO BETH! John Campbell needs to get off his lazy butt and get outta here because clearly he doesn’t have any responsibility or the actual WANT to represent the people that needs help. BETH KROM is surely the one that will get the job done and actually SHOW UP and REPRESENT!
