There are quite a few candidates vying for two seats on the Anaheim City Council this year. Those who have qualified include:
- Brian Chuchua
- Bill Dalati
- Gail Eastman
- Robert J. Flores
- Rodolfo Gaona
- Thomas “Hoagy” Holguin
- John Leos
- Linda Linder
- Kris Murray
- Robert Nelson
- Sandy Parke
- John Santoianni
- Denis Varnum
The list will be finalized on August 12. Click here to see the update.
There are also three mayoral candidates running to replace Curt Pringle, including: Denis Fitzgerald, Shirley McCracken and Tom Tait.
Tait is an uber-Republican who used to employ former OC GOP Chair Tom Fuentes.
Of the Council candidates, Holguin has the longest history in office, as a school board member. Bill Dalati is well known and you have to figure he is a favorite. Santoianni is a progressive and a city commissioner. Leos is a Republican who is backed by union interests. Leos also works for the county government, in the probation department. Not sure who the rest of these people are.
A musician – Dustin Apodaca of “Dusty Rhodes and the River Band” – also filed to run…
