Planned Parenthood Issues Statement Regarding Meg Whitman’s Visit to Orange County
ORANGE, CALIF.– Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties CEO, Jon Dunn, today issued the following statement about Meg Whitman’s visit to Orange County:
“Meg Whitman is coming to Orange County to talk to Orange County women about the issues they face every day. Our concern is that from day one of her campaign, Whitman has expressed that women’s health care isn’t an important issue in this campaign. We are not even sure she is committed to protecting California’s effective family planning services. What Whitman has said is she wants to repeal laws that protect women from unfair treatment by health insurance companies.
Orange County women and men count on Planned Parenthood to be there for them – whether they need help with how to talk to their teens or they need information about starting a family. They know we will be there for them whether or not they have health insurance. That’s why a in a recent poll by OC Metro, Orange County Planned Parenthood was listed as one of the county’s most trustworthy brands.
Our concern is that Whitman doesn’t know the full story about the women who turn to Planned Parenthood for their healthcare. We’re glad Whitman is coming to Orange County and we hope to open a dialogue with Whitman about the real issues Orange County women are facing every day.”
Time and time again Whitman has been vague about her position on issues related to women’s health. California voters understand the importance of women’s health; we want to know if Whitman does.

Does anyone seriously think that Meg will propose anything other than gutting the safety net? Her design is to drive those below poverty level out of California! I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if she proposed to cut funding for public education and give vouchers for private education to gut our public education system turning it into a dumping ground for anyone with a problem (medical, psychological, social or physical) because public schools have to educate anyone who comes to their door living withing their boundaries and private schools are able to pick and choose students who present no problems. I want to know how she is going to make her money back? Oh yeah donations after she wins will offset her own money. It will likely be pay for play in Sacramento for awhile.
