Newly elected Irvine Councilman Jeff Lalloway said he’s going to turn down medical and pension benefits, and if he can, a $715 monthly car allowance the city offers to council members, according to the Voice of OC.
Interesting. Will Lalloway’s move be copied by the other Irvine Council Members? Will he set off a countywide trend?
Bold move by a new Council Member!
This is the kind of thing we need to see more of throughout the country. His message is, “these are things I don’t need, so I don’t want them and local taxes and/or the budget should reflect this.”
Good job, Lalloway.
good for him but i am surprised he gets a car allowance and pension at all for serving on council. I would have thought Sandy Genis would have been all over this by now..
Will he also refuse his salary as a board member of the Great Park?
Good job Jeff! Reject it all. If they make you take the salary, give it to charity!
