As our new bloggers are taking to the posts of Orange Juice to offer holiday reading literature, I just want to let OC folks know of a huge book sale taking place this weekend. The Unitarian Universalist Church in Anaheim, a longtime hub of social justice and liberal religiosity since its establishment in 1958, will be offering thousands of books at cheap prices to interested readers as part of a fundraiser this Saturday to help keep the doors open. An email from fellow OJ blogger Duane Roberts notes that the UU’s will selling books at prices between a quarter and two dollars (sometimes, but rarely more) and that “topics include: Biography, Feminism, Women’s Issues, Non-Fiction, Fiction, Self-Help, Health, Art, Drama, Literature, Political Science, & much more!”
You never know! You may find a gem, or two, or ten! But you won’t know if you don’t go so here is the 411: It all goes down on Saturday December 18th, from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Anaheim located at 511 South Harbor Blvd. Anaheim, California (Located on the Southwest corner of Harbor Blvd. and Santa Ana Street) Call 714-758-1050 for more information!
Hope some of you OJ folks had the chance to check this out! I had Duane Roberts ring me up some good finds like “Nausea” by Jean-Paul Sarte and “Summerhill” by A.S. Neill.
6 books – $3.75. Can’t beat that!
