By The Desert Rat
Today the ever-increasingly pathetic OC Register ran an editorial trumpeting the creation of something called the Association of California Cities, a homespun effort to replace the California League of Cities. The Register wants us to believe that anything that replaces the League is a good thing. To which I respond: not so fast.

Maybe I can do facebook for the Association @ $200 buck an hour!
Here’s a quote from the article, the first couple of paragraphs dutifully and immediately passed along verbatim by Red County repuglican flunky Matthew J. Cunningham:
Yes, some idiot hiding behind the moniker “Desert Rat” knows better than the OC Register that supported the move and the 21 Orange County Cities that made the move. Orange County has long been the only portion of the League that had its own organization and its own Board of Directors. After being frustrasted with the League’s insistence on involvement in issues that should have nothing to do with good government, the creation of the Association is a breath of fresh air.
Yeah, just what we need, onother agency bleeding the system, influencing funding.
How’s that for smaller government.
It’s kinda like a UNION heh?
This thing is a disgusting albatross. WHO’S PAYING FOR IT GEOFF?
Then breathe deep my friend, and drink deep at the well of repuglicanism.
Tony, your comment is not even cogent. Geoff Willis gives a nice comment challenging your post, and that is the best you have to come back with?
Maybe look at it this way: If Orange County did run the entire state, would Californians be better off? I think the answer is easily “YES”.
The cities in OC are trying to make things better, and given what the state legislature and the past two failed governors have done, I say give the OC cities a shot at better public policy. Wow, they have not even been around for a few months and you are taking shots at them. What are YOU defending, Tony?
Cogency? Sorry, brother. We live in a post-cogency era.
It’s all the same. Big government collaboratives working on confounding master plans. Some of my bloggers and I don’t trust the repuglican consortium that runs OC. We tend to believe their conservatism is phony and every thing is for sale. Does the OC Fair Sale swindle ring a bell?
There isn’t one board member of that group I’d hire to walk my dog.
The League is a joke. Why replace it with League Lite?
Tony, who would you trust to run OC?
Geoff and OC Spock: save your breath. Bushala is a whack-job who thinks everything is a conspiracy. Nobody normal cares what he thinks.
10-4, that seems to be the case.
I hope those pointed ears didn’t cause any permanent rectal damage.

Looks like ol Jubal is in the news again, getting his name out wherever he can:

Looks like another one of his priest buddies is in hot water.
FWIW, I see as publisher of his own Catholic Blog:
http://romancatholicblog.typepad.com/
he is still playing the split personality thing posting as Matthew J. Cunningham, failing to mention he is actually the BLOG publisher. All the while asking for donations.
What a crook.
