Go ahead. Make my day.
According to Scott Moxley at the OC Weekly 4th District Supervisor Shawn Nelson has applied for a concealed weapon permit from our Sheriff Sandra Hutchens.
Said Nelson: “Most politicians just shoot off their mouths. I’m aiming higher. Literally”
No, he really didn’t say that. But any loony potential perp out there take heed. Nelson’s a good shot. He said so himself.

Shawn Nelson's roscoe
He’ll be packing a Colt Commander .45 slug hurler. That will leave an impression on just about anybody.
*Firearms are a 2nd Amendment right. Whether or not the Sheriff gives him the nod is another thing. Every case is differen! No guarantee’s!
He should have one if he wants one. It carries responsibilities along with the “privilege” and it does make, not only the holder, but those around them, safer.
Why we are still one of the few “may issue” states while other more progressive states have moved to “shall issue” is mind boggling to me. Perhaps as we release more prisoners from the state institutions there will be more pressure on the legislature to change the law so it’s more democratic who gets one and who doesn’t. I bothers me greatly that only those who can show cause, before the fact or survive an attack, or more problematic, those who are cronies of the sheriff are blessed with receiving the privilege of a CCW. That just STINKS!
I know of no other Right that is as regulated and screwed with on a regular basis and yet in review of practical application has so much positive crime reduction and lack of problems than CCW. All one has to do is look at the historical facts across the country in states where it has been applied. Very few problems!
Facts should matter more than feelings when it comes to public and private safety!

As a girl who grew up in Scottsdale Arizona, I agree with the gun laws they have! I think that California should follow. Glad to see that the OC board of supervisors agrees with that gun law! I think more good tax-paying citizens should have guns; unfortunately seems the bad people are the only ones with guns these days and that is scary! Way to go Shawn!
