Every year, Cal State Fullerton plays host to the ‘Social Justice Summit.’ This Saturday, the event provides another opportunity for students, community leaders, and activists to come together in the common spirit of changing the status quo. Hundreds participate in the FREE day-long summit as various workshops on social justice themes are intermingle with keynote speeches. This year, Captain Paul Watson, animal rights activist and star of “Whale Wars” will give the morning address while comedian and co-host of Citizen Radio Jamie Kilstein will close out the day. Three workshop sessions include topics such as “From Wisconsin to Costa Mesa: The Fight Over Labor In America,” “Undocumented, Unafraid and Unapologetic: Organizing for the DREAM,” and “Becoming the Media: Killing the Biased, Boring News Dinosaurs.”
7th Annual Social Justice Summit: If not me, then who?. Saturday, April 16, 2011, Cal State Fullerton Titan Student Union 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
“Social Justice” is crap – it can mean whatever you want it to mean.
Equal justice under the law is the American standard – this isn’t Europe (yet).
“If not me, then who?”
Not you…
sounds like a far left socialist gathering ..
Perhaps in the context of “Orange County.” Some of the workshops are relatively tame, however. Left Forum this is not. There’s a workshop at the SJS on Free Market philanthropy and compassionate capitalism…
Bring your heart rate down!
“.. Free Market philanthropy and compassionate capitalism…”
okay …… I am all for philanthropy and compassion …. and of course those other 2 things.
But is your philanthropy and compassion commanded by coercive taxation?
Why don’t you ask the person giving the workshop?
Apparently, Gustavo Arellano is giving the blog talk on “Becoming the Media” from 2-3 p.m.

That’s after the vegan luncheon. Tacos al pastor anyone?
IDK who the other workshop givers are at this point and time…
Tacos al pastor anyone?………. Hmmm
Do you deliver?
Sorry Stan. No luck for you. Like Junior, you’ll have to attend the Summit as well!
Bolivian President Evo Morales vowed in a speech to U.N. delegates that a global movement had begun to lay “out a Declaration on the Rights of Mother Earth.”
Morales, who repeatedly says “the central enemy of Mother Earth is capitalism,” called for creating a charter that defends the right to life for all living things. Morales, who was named World Hero of Mother Earth by the General Assembly, has since made great strides in his campaign.
.. “the central enemy of Mother Earth is capitalism,” — If you had any doubt about the goals of “social justice” and “enviro radicalism” — the UN is going to actually vote on this garbage.
