Yep, Brian Joseph’s resume is online right now right here.
Joseph’s reputation has tanked badly after his reckless disregard of the truth in a hit piece on Assembly candidate Julio Perez.
Calls for Joseph to reveal who planted the bogus story have been ignored, and the Register has been silent about issuing any sort of apology for their malicious and reckless disregard of the truth. The Voice of OC established that Julio did in fact live at the address he used in the affidavit he submitted to the Orange County Registrar of Voters
Belatedly, the Register finally sent an actual local reporter to interview Julio Perez at his home. After quizzing him on his toothpaste and examining his laundry, Andrew Galvin concluded that Perez lived at his home.
My favorite snippet from Brian Joseph’ ever so pretentious website:
A native of Omaha, Neb., Brian is interested in stories about social injustice and in pairing investigative reporting with storytelling and narrative journalism.
Really, Brian? Really?
Quimby, don’t you see a responsibility as a blogger to go beyond the bare facts of a … oh. I get it.
See this guy Brian Joseph needs to stop with the tango-dancing and go back to gotcha journalism 101.
The story about the guy who doesn’t live where he sez he lives has two parts
Part 1 Proof that the guy doesn’t live where he sez he lives.
Part B Proof that the guy lives somewheres else.
And you need pictures. Part 1 you gotta have pictures of a house with no furniture or some bimbo living there.
Part B you gotta have pictures or videos of the guy parking his car in the morning, picking up his newspaper in the driveway, and kissing his wife goodbye when he leaves. Or welcoming everybody to his Christmas party.
We got plenty of examples of these stories around here – about Steven Choi, Linda Ackerman, Phu Nguyen, et cetera. Brian Joseph even wrote a big story about legislators who bought houses in Sacramento, as if there were something wrong with home ownership. You can look it up.
I disagree. The tango dancing looks like fun.
So I’m confused — Steven Choi is living with Linda Ackerman? What???
Mayor Quimby-
You criticism’s of BJoseph are right on the mark. He’s a shill for various self serving Consumer Terrorists (Center for Public Interest Law, Citizens Advocacy Center-D.Swankin, Safe Patient Project). To him and these other croneys, throwing great health professionals under the bus is always justified.
Hey Vern.
You mentioned that Andrew Galvin lives in Santa Ana too.
I have recieved three EMAILS in the last two days calling bullshit. They say he lives in HB.
It shouldn’t matter, but while things get picked apart about representation. we should be honest.
TO BE CLEAR: I have asked Andrew, Publicly and Privately three times:
DO YOU LIVE IN SANTA ANA?
He has yet to respond. I hope he does. that gives him and the OCR some much needed credibility.
There is a method to my madness. But to be fair, let’s let the “Santa Ana” guy reply.
Hm. Maybe I was wrong. I had the impression he did. That’s always where I see him. He covers SA a lot and goes and sees bands there. Maybe I was wrong or confusing him with Adam E or something. Who cares though. At least he went to check out Baker Street.
Okay. His FB says HB. I made a mistake.
Are you pickin on us from Tempe already?
I will not vote for Andrew Galvin this year unless he answers your question!
No. I lagged as usual. The old Lay family thing: “We’ll be on the road at three” Trouble is I have a few beers in me and my wife is a slow driver!
No one should mistake my hard questions for support or disdain for a canidate.
I want the best canidate for the district. I have always voted with my consience and consider myself a liberal Democrat (not a stupid one). I am all about social justice.
It scares me that a supposedly well qualified canidate would be in this mess, handle it the way he has and frankly, the defense run has confirmed that Julio Perez, is not ready for prime time and is a subject of his masters.
The good news for Perez, is I am just one vote. A half a million bucks goes a long way in the 69th.
Most disapointing to me is that intelligent, well spoken, considerate powers like Vern, Greg, Dan and Noberto would overlook the fact that the guy has BAGGAGE. He lives in a rented bedroom, in a Downtrodden unit and his has MAJOR personal financial problems (if true). He is YOUNG, inexperienced and truthfully, ill prepared for the lions den he’s going to enter. Unless of course he is merely a sponsored union canidate as some allege.
Enough about this. I-10 is going to fuck me massively. and the hotel bar will be closed upon arrival.
GD- No worries about papers for me. I am white, Mrs. Lay is Mexican by birth and has her passport (just in case)! SHAMEFUL ACTS FROM AND OTHERWISE WONDERFUL STATE (not really it all sucks there!).
KLND
I raised my family on the streets near the N. Baker House, I still own the house, and live nearby now.
You’d mentioned you leave your side (back) door open. If I figure out where you live, can I wander over from Julio’s on Sunday and pour myself a drink?
I’ve dealt with Julio for a year and a half. We’ve talked politics, philosophy, and strategy and tactics. He may be only 33, but he’s as smart as any Democrat I’ve met in OC. And he’s brave, slashing at Solorio when most “prudent” Democrats would just let the guy go on being a Democrat when the light shines brightly enough and a Republican on committees and otherwise.
Living in a rented bedroom isn’t baggage, his debt problems are explicable (especially in this economy), and he is not inexperienced at all. You should try to meet him and give him your best questions. If you’re all about social justice, you’ll be impressed.
“he’s as smart as any Democrat I’ve met in OC”
Uh oh.
How clever! I suppose that I could have said “twice as smart as any libertarian,” but that would be damning with faint praise.
Good thing I’m not a libertarian or I might have been offended.
He should get a job at TMZ instead.
Where does Allan Mansoor live now?
Uh-oh. Doesn’t he seem like the “owns many houses” type? Someone should ask Leslie Daigle.
Well… not really, I don’t think he’s well off. He was an unemployed jailer before going to Sac. Although he did buy his Ma a home in Virginia. Why do you bring it up, gericault?
I thought that he was wealthy and that that’s how he beat Phu.
No, man. Way off. PHU is wealthy (good businessman who worked himself up from nothing.) Mansoor won because he had the county GOP strongly behind him, and Dems didn’t come out enough in 2010.
OK. I hadn’t paid too much attention to Mansoor’s history, but I did hear a lot about how he had “all that money.” I guess that the reference was to contributions from wealthy interests.
Your info feeds my suspicion that Daigle is going to beat him.
