On the anniversary of Kelly Thomas’s death…..the father, Ron Thomas filed suit against the City of Fullerton and the six officers that particpated in the beating and arrest of Kelly Thomas at at the Fullerton Transportation Center.
The mother of Kelly Thomas participated in a candlelight vigil last night to honor the memory of Kelly. She also took a healthy cash payout from the City of Fullerton – NOT TO SUE the city in the future.
Orange County District Attorney Tony R…..is prosecuting two of the officers in criminal proceedings…..no date has been set for trial …at this point.
Three Fullerton City Council Members have been recalled and replaced in the Recall Election.
Sharon Quirk Silva, the current Mayor of Fullerton has chosen not to stay on the Council and will not run for re-election, because she is running for the Assembly against former and current Fullerton maven Assemblyman Chris Norby.
Bruce Whitaker is the lone member of the Council, elected a couple of years ago…..to fill a spot……to stay in a game which will require removing and replacing the current City Manager, Police Chief, certain Administrators and re-setting the entire process – with all new members of the council.
The wrongful death filing by Ron Thomas……seems premature…..appropriate mind you…..but premature, before the fruition of the criminal proceedings.
For those with any issues regarding the stated FACTS….just remember, without nuiance……these are just the facts….so far – nothing more!

I don’t know the specific causes of action in the suit, but one likely reason for its having been filed yesterday the timing could be a one-year statute of limitations for one or more of them.
*Dr. D., Yep, that is certainly something that should be looked into. That’s why they
have lawyers we suppose. We have plenty of them yelping on this pog blog…maybe
one will step up with some pro bono observations.
My observation is that Ron Thomas does not need a lawyer to work for him pro bono.
