The Mid-June, 2014 Edition of the Fullerton Observer* devotes nearly all of it’s second page of print (available online as a pdf) to asking the Fullerton Police Department about both the arrests of protesters on January 18, 2014, and the subsequent arrest of A.J. Redkey in Pasadena months later. First, the Observer presents a timeline of the January protest against the “not guilty” verdicts in the trial of former officers Jay Cicinelli and Manual Ramos in the beating death of Kelly Thomas. The source of the timeline is noted as “Fullerton Police Dept. records.” FPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Jeff Stuart’s comments are inserted in italics
This is just one more reason we need to get rid of POBOR.!
Dan Hughes and the Fullerton police department are typical #orangecounty CA law enforcement. Masters of harassment and intimidation. Masters at obstruction and defrauding courts. And with a DA’s office as disgraceful and criminal as they are – hence the confidence with which the oath violating fraud is committed.
And when their hand is occasionally caught in the cookie jar, they use your taxpayer money to buy settlement silence. In summary, nothing but contempt for the people they were supposed to serve. Exactly like Bernie Madoff or a pedophile priest.
In the paper today there is an article about 82 police officers shot and killed in 2012 – 2013 time frame.
Where are the protests? The call to protect our police?
Do you think that we’re insufficiently attentive to protecting police? We seem extremely attentive to it. Most of the police shootings of civilians (and the Kelly Thomas killing itself) are attributed to the desire to ensure that even a fleeing suspect, even a lying on the ground suspect, will offer no threat whatsoever to police safety. What more do you want — greater acceptance of what skally calls “collateral damage” in this effort? I was sure protesting the cop killers in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago — but I don’t recall you showing up in comments to chime in. True, skally showed up, but that was mostly to show off his new vocabulary word, “fulginous.”
This is 82 nationwide in two years? Well, each one is sad I guess… but that’s less than one per state per year.
I know that it’s been decades since an Anaheim cop got shot fatally, while they’ve shot and killed dozens of fleeing alleged gangbangers.
Have you read the recent report that this last year is the lowest incident of police life lost in decades?
The Internet is demolishing your false insinuation that all these men and women are marvelous heroes. Some of your heroes in Orange County CA are deliberate Latino male life destroyers.
That’s most likely 80+ union members,,,
Karl, I’d love to re-post your comment on some law enforcement websites. May I do so?
