Join fiscal conservative darling State Senator John Moorlach on a hike of Fremont Canyon Nature Preserve this Saturday.
You don’t have to pay a lobbyist to have “access,” just a pair of hiking shoes.
Members of the public are invited to join Senator John Moorlach to enjoy spectacular views and hear updates on California’s 37th Senate district.
Join us on this morning hike to the abandoned coal mine in Fremont Canyon, with Senator Moorlach and naturalists from Irvine Ranch Conservancy. Beginning from Santiago Creek, we will hike up the Coal Mine Road to the coal seam that is visible along the road. We will then head back, descending the Coal Mine Road while we enjoy the far-reaching views of Orange County and the Santa Ana Mountains.
Let’s see now – Santa Ana winds predicted with temperatures in the high 90’s. High fire danger. Rattlesnakes are out. Something is wrong with this picture.
Only if he promises not to wear those lederhosen.
or, someone can ask him to stand very close to the edge and then pray for a gust of wind
Yeah, what could possibly go wrong ?
Just to be clear, this is for this “this Saturday,” not the Saturday when this was published “this Saturday.” You know, to hell with it — I’m changing the publication date to last Sunday!
Yes, I believe 10/10 is in the very title.
Am writing this mid-day on Sunday to ask that any who participated in this hiking event report on how it went. Vern or Greg – did you cover this one? Tyler in Irvine ?
Ummm… I had to brush my hair. Sorry.
I don’t often hike — but when I do, it’s under 100 freaking degrees!
Tyler in Irvine – since you posted the notice about this hike, how about giving us a report on what happened, the size of the crowd, etc? Otherwise, I am left with the impression that this event must have been a non-event. At least though I have not read anything about a brush fire in that area.
