Let’s just say up front that we like Lee Fink, we’re glad he won the Tustin Council race in November, and his righteous “lawfare” against OC corruption especially at the OCBOE and in Huntington Beach has been expert and indispensable, sine qua non.
But we are NOT down with shoving elderly docents. Docent shoving is never the answer. And today we came into possession of the “CASE SUMMARY” regarding Lee’s docent-shoving incident of last May, which we believe retains too much public interest for us to just sit on. In short, Lee got a year’s informal probation, and ordered to pay unspecified restitution, two days before Yuletide last:
But… why are we only hearing of this disposition now, nearly a month later? Back in November, reading Matt Cunningham, other Republican blogs, and the Register, it seemed like Lee’s docent-shoving was the crime of the century, crying out for justice, depriving anyone in the County possessing a conscience of a peaceful night’s sleep. But then, as soon as the election was over, everyone sorta forgot about it.
Here’s the thing: Republicans across the County who hated Lee for good reason spent unprecedented, inordinate amounts of money trying to keep Lee off the Tustin Council. Dan at the Liberal OC actually wrote a good piece about this strenuous effort. (At first I didn’t think Dan could have written the piece, but it does have a typical absurd Dannish “what-about” paragraph – i.e. “What about when Jerry Amante was mean to Deborah Gavelo? What about Wagner covering for Do?” so now I do think Dan wrote it. In any case if you read THAT it’ll save me some work here.)
And these Republicans, dying to defeat Lee at the ballot box cuz they could never defeat him in the courtroom, believed the late discovery of the docent-shoving Ring video would be a godsend in that cause. If you really gotta see that, click here.
But once Lee won the Council race, suddenly nobody seemed to care about the incident any more. Strange. Oh *I* know what happened! After the election the MONEY DRIED UP that kept Matt all up in arms about this, hammering on the incident several times a week. Now the Orange Juice Blog is left holding the bag, sorry.
Funny how elections make misdeeds like docent-shoving seem like a huge deal one month, and then forgotten the next. That reminds me – whatever happened with that guy who allegedly got choked out by OCBOE’s Ken Williams, after Ken ran into him on the road? Was that even true? We never heard about it again, after that election.
It is so simple though, and it’s a good thing to remember whether you’re a political candidate or not – do NOT shove the docent. Shoving the docent is NEVER, or, rather, ALMOST never the answer. I am working on a song to help drive this lesson home, it’ll start something like “Who deserves your shovin’, shovin’? The Docent Doesn’t, the Docent Doesn’t.”
Anger management, Lee! And aside from that keep up the good work!
Haven’t seen the name Brett Murdock for a while.
He usually works WITH Lee Fink these days, not FOR him. They can both boast about forcing the truth out of HB’s Klepto-MAGAts on their Pacific Airshow Giveaway, and now they’re working at stopping it.
His last name is FINK for f sake. Perhaps he should change it to BRUTE or THUG. FYI a misdemeanor conviction of battery may be an act of moral turpitude or other misconduct warranting discipline qualifying FINK for discipline by the State Bar.
Is pushing a elderly volunteer base, vile, or depraved conduct shocking to a reasonable person?
Is it conduct warranting discipline?
Too put this in perspective Min will ain’t a member of the CA bar and his only other membership that I’m aware of in New York has expired. I don’t think being elected to the House lets you see the roses on the ceiling in the library of the building where the Supremes sit. If you ain’t a member, you need a member to escort you there. Doh!
Fink’s conduct was deplorable.
Well, Cunningham heard about this from me not that he’ll admit it:

Hat-tip to my anonymous pajarito.
“…Should a dozen docents diss your daughter,
Stop and Think:
Don’t Pull a Fink!”
Apparently a murder almost took place:
“In November 2023, 69-year-old Paul Kessler, while demonstrating his support for Israel, was assaulted by a pro-Palestinian protestor. Kessler fell over and hit his head on the asphalt. Kessler died the next day, as a result.”
Talk about pearl clutching.
Voice of OC jumps on Lee Fink.

Yeah, as reported here a week ago.
But that’s better than their new story about South County Republicans’ War against the Boys and Girls Club, which we’ve been covering for SEVEN MONTHS.
You must have found that arousing.
