Yup, I want to represent “ordinary Americans” who are hurting. Sen.Obama

What a joke. First Senator Obama breaks his promise to only accept federal matching funds in the presidential campaign. Now he hob-knobs with the Hollywood elite at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills where the price of admission to see the man is only $28,500. Who know how much more he charged to have a photo taken with him.

His web site for donors reads:  “This campaign is about building a different kind of politics. We don’t take money from lobbyists or political action committees, and we’re going to build a broad base of individual donors to ensure that this campaign answers to no one but the people.”
While it is reported that Obama has 258,000 Internet donors, “less than 30 percent of his contributions came from people who gave less than $200.”

Larry. After Governor Palin was added to the GOP ticket he needs big bucks to challenge John McCain. That’s strange. Especially after boasting of having hundreds of thousands of donors who probably sent him one to twenty dollars each. You know who they are the common folk like you and me.
As I did not attend this gala I am adding the opening comments from the AP.

“BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) – Barack Obama partied with Hollywood celebrities Tuesday night and with the help of Oscar-winning singer and actress Barbra Streisand raised an eye-popping $9 million for his presidential campaign and the Democratic Party.

The night was split into two glitzy events, a reception and dinner costing $28,500 each at the Greystone Mansion, followed by entertainment by Streisand at the nearby Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. About 250-300 people were expected at the dinner and about 800 at the entertainment, which cost $2,500 a ticket.”

Query. Did any of our Juice readers attend last night?
If so we would surely welcome your thoughts on the event.
