Sentence of Jesus Aguirre commuted by Gov. Brown

I’d like to think the Vern’s reporting here may have played at least a small role in this.  (Note: those who did nothing to help this young man have no standing to give an opinion on that.)

Mark notes that this commutation will officially take effect when California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, signs and gold-stamps this Document.

Welcome back into society, Jesus Aguirre — anyone out there have a job for him? — and congratulations to all of the activists who would not let hope for his release die.

Somewhat verbose attorney, semi-disabled and semi-retired, residing in northwest Brea. Occasionally ran for office against jerks who otherwise would have gonr unopposed. He doesn't usually know whom she and her firm represent. Whether they do so never influences his endorsements or coverage. (He does have his own strong opinions.) But when he does check campaign finance forms, he is often happily surprised to learn that good candidates he respects often DO hire her firm. (Maybe bad ones are scared off by his relationship with her, but they needn't be.)
