When a teacher at Capo Valley High School was arrested because of allegations of sex with a student, we knew about it because the incident was reported to the O.C. Register. But when a teacher’s aide got busted at Santa Ana’s Saddleback High School, we first found out about it here at the Orange Juice, in comments left by our readers on our longstanding post about corruption at the Santa Ana Unified School District. The only media that reported this incident was the OC Weekly, which had this to say about the incident:
“This past Monday, a teacher’s aide by the name of Alonso Manuel Gonzalez was arrested by SanTana police and released on bail. The Orange County Sheriff’s website no longer lists why folks get thrown in the pokey, but the Orange County Superior Court website shows Gonzalez was arrested for a “lewd act with dependent adult by caretaker.”
Why did CAPO Unified officials step up and do the right thing by announcing the arrest of their teacher, while SAUSD officials have not even notified all the parents of the kids who may have been molested by their teacher’s aide?
Day number 16 of not notifying the parents.
Nice job, Jane Russo!
Not.
Hell. Day number 16 of not going public with either Saddleback or Valley. Really nice going Russo and BOE. Oh I forgot. The board just got re-elected and no longer cares about the students.
Lest we forget another story from Aliso Niguel High school recently in the register. An assistant coach was arrested in September for having sex with a female student, then caught recently parked on a street texting the teenage girl in violation of a restraining order.
Again that district and local law enforcement put out the information contrary to what SAUSD and SAPD are doing. It seems to be a trend. What are Santa Ana district and city police afraid to admit? Perhaps we do need the county sheriffs to take over patrol of Santa Ana too? They seem to be out there doing the job protecting our children.
The story is located at:

All the other stories involved people who were having inappropriate relations with individuals who were able to communicate.
In Santa Ana, the victim was helpless against any kind of lewd acts. There is no way that consent could have been in play, if the student was “dependent”. It is up to caregivers and overseers to give a voice to the situation. SAUSD and Jane Russo clearly are not making any attempt to provide adequate assistance to law authorities to get to the truth. Again.
Well….you can also thank all of those ‘smart voters’ who chose to re-elect all the same losers that have been draining the dignity, respect and moral fiber that was left of the district. Other than the newcomer Valarie Amezcua (who I’m sure we will be keeping our VERY KEEN EYES on to see if she stays true to her promises)the others are simply not interested. They are just like those clowns downtown…demi-gods in their own little pea brains. Russo’s a pathetic pawn for the Board..and I do mean pathetic.
Keoniana
Valarie Amezcua did not win. Roman Reyena won. This was certified 12/01/08 by the OCRV Office.
My bad; thanks ‘Anon’ for checking it out and correcting my error. I still stand for the rest of my statement.
I weep.
I pray,
for my students every day.
Russo at the “top”,
is a classic FOP.
May she quickly go far away!
Not even school is safe. Who should we trust now?
