First, before we share what happened this weekend, let’s thank our brave election workers, and remember how that didn’t USED to be a job you had to be BRAVE to do, until a certain national nightmare named Donald Trump appeared on the horizon (enabled by a shitload of you-all.) We should actually be having a national holiday for Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss.

And let’s also thank our own Orange County (CA) Registrar of Voters, led by Bob Page, for another job well done with the 2024 elections. You may have missed it but the OC Grand Jury was forced, by bogus Republican claims of forged signatures and dead people & “illegals” voting, to investigate the Registrar’s work in depth, and came back with a glowing report concluding that “there was no evidence of fraud or election interference in November; that voting was fair, secure and transparent;” and even “heaping copious praise on the registrar’s office for its stellar work.” As the Register’s Teri Sforza put it:

“This just in: When your candidate loses an election, it means your candidate has lost an election! It’s not proof of fraud, but may, in fact, be proof that you’re a crybaby.”

Oh, snap! Except today’s election crybabies are VICIOUS, armed with and hidden behind social media, fond of doxxing and death threats, and sometimes armed with arms. And as gleeful as they are about the national results this year, there are still a lot of crybabies that can’t get over their losses in Orange County, and are sure that only cheating can explain the victories of Dave Min and Derek Tran in this once-rightwing stronghold.

So, anyway, what happened Thursday?

Right. It looks like it may have started with this total dipshit named Joe Hoft, the albino twin brother of the albino who runs “Gateway Pundit,” both of them longtime volcanos of rightwing disinformation, who posted a story on his “JoeHoft.com” breathlessly entitled “BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Orange County, CA Election Worker Shoves Huge Stack of Ballots Through Machine Three Times.” And this was illustrated with photos, AND a video, of a female election worker, yes, putting a stack of ballots into a scanner three times, an occurrence very common, innocent and easily explained (below.)

THEN next thing you know some asswipe (or collection of asswipes?) calling themselves “End Wokeness” (do they know how stupid that sounds?) posted the video onto Elon Musk’s Twitter, and it immediately went viral. Here’s the video:

The tweet (which may or not be embedding on your computer but you can see it here) was viewed by 1.9 million people, in 24 hours, by the time Bob Page became aware of it. (The tweet is STILL UP and now has 2.2 MILLION views.) Predictably it gave rise to a Zombie Lynch Mob calling for the young lady’s punishment. “World Hall of Fun” blew up a grainy screenshot of the woman, exclaiming “Gotta make her famous!! Let’s go!!” – and that comment itself was liked by 1300 people.

Some set in to ridiculing the worker’s appearance, while others lamented how hard it’ll be to track her down as “everybody in Santa Ana California looks like her!” Anonymous cowards, the very polyps of our age, screeched “Dox her! Dox her!” I’d like to dox whatever lowlife calls himself “HB SurfDog” who demanded of Bob Page himself, “Who IS the POLL worker? Please IDENTIFY.” Does anybody know who HB SurfDog is, and why he wants so badly to know the identity of this young Santa Ana woman? (If that’s even where she’s from.)

Yes, Bob Page crawled into the Elon Musk sewer formerly known as Twitter and responded to all of this by Friday, noting with some exasperation that only two people in 24 hours had contacted him to verify the reckless charges – “a senior misinformation reporter/analyst from NewsGuard Technologies” and one of the Gateway Pundit albinos. What this woman was doing happens all the time, and it’s embarrassing that all these self-appointed election experts have never seen it – when a scanner is overworked because so many late mail-in ballots have been going through it, it needs to be cleaned frequently. The batch was scanned three times but only SAVED once, because it was rejected the first two times. The bar codes on the ballots make it impossible to count them more than once. The lies are meticulously debunked HERE. But only 2700 people have seen Bob Page’s tweet. while the misinformation is still up and seen by millions.

Yes. The lying tweet, still out there menacing and endangering an innocent young OC lady, has been seen by 2.2 million rubes who once again had their biases confirmed that when Democrats win it’s because they cheated. While only 2700 people read the truth – that’s a difference of 814 to one.

You know how they used to say, “A lie gets halfway around the world while the truth is still getting its boots on?” That is so 20th Century.

In these apocalyptic, post-reality days, a lie gets around the world a thousand times, ravishes everyone’s mom and dog, produces a billionaire-funded docu-drama and takes out stock options, while the truth is still waking up, rubbing its eyes, wanting some coffee, wondering where it left its boots last night and what the hell just happened.
