Well lookie there. Turns out that Red County editor Matt “Jerbal” Cunningham is on the City of Orange’s Planning Commission. And he is accompanied by OC GOP Central Committee member Fred Whitaker. Scott Steiner is the son of former Republican O.C. Supervisor Bill Steiner, and both Robert Imboden and Michael Merino are architects.
I wonder how many of these guys are affiliated in one way or another with GOP consultant John Lewis? If you check out Lewis’ website you will find that the industries he “serves” include:
- Government
- Political Campaigns
- Polling
- Investment Banking
- Residential Development
- Commercial Development
- Architectural and Engineering Services
- Education Bonds
- Transportation
- Healthcare
- Sports Facilities
- Satellite Television
- Mobilehome Parks
Is it just me or does it appear that Lewis has a good reason to want to control Planning Commissions throughout Orange County?
Jerbal is a bonus for Lewis as he also sits on the O.C. Beaches, Harbors and Parks Commission.
At the end of the day this is what O.C. Republicans are all about. Stuffing their pockets at public expense. Whores!
Art, do you know if the appointments made by individual council member recommendation?
“LCG provides both the blueprint for a successful campaign and supplies the mechanism for fulfilling a successful campaign strategy.” This is taken directly from Lewis’ website, “supplies the mechanism”.
Jerbal = mechanism

Mr.Bushala:
Maybe you missed the other comments on Shawn Nelson’s line of work, since you haven’t commented on it. This is from his firm’s website:
“Nelson & Rizio specializes in sex crimes at both the state and federal level. We have generated very impressive results in the defense of pandering and prostitution charges.”
Here’s the link:
http://www.rizioandnelson.com/criminal_defense_lawyer/pandering.html
As you can see, Nelson chooses to provide legal defense for sex criminals, drunk drivers and violent criminals.
Does this bother you? Don’t you agree that Republicans ought to be aware of this?
“As you can see, Nelson chooses to provide legal defense for sex criminals, drunk drivers and violent criminals.”
First, even though I have no intention to defend Mr. Nelson, last I looked, it still is “innocent until proven guilty” in this country.
So, if anything, he defended people who got accused of crimes. Every defense lawyer does that.
Second, this kind of “going negative” is disgusting. This is the Limbaugh/Hannity/O’Reilly modus operandi.
From reading about Tom Daly it sounds like he could have used Nelson’s firm to help in 1998 when he needed a lawyer to defend his illegal campaign contribution case. We all need help if we get accused of something.
Regardless Fullerton Watcher, are you suggesting that if one works at a Law Firm where there is a criminal defense department he is guilty of something? Is that like any one who owns a guitar is a musician?
Nelson can fend for himself but if you take the time to read the legal verdicts info that the actual legal industry follows it appears Nelson himself litigates a bunch of civil employment, securities and tort cases. Try The Daily Journal or Verdicts & Settlements
