Michael Jackson, the self styled King of Pop, who was rushed to UCLA Medical Center earlier today, has died after suffering cardiac arrest. Paramedics who arrived on the scene were apparently never able to revive him.
Details are forthcoming, but rumors of heart trouble have plagued the singer for decades.
I prefer to remember the singer who gave us Thriller and Bad, rather than his quixotic, malignant, later years.

As part of my colorful life, during the late 70’s, I was a minor shareholder and producer in Laser Media Inc.
In about 1976, I personally met Michael in our studios in Santa Monica when he was interested in implementing lasers into his gigs.
Michael was about 17teen when I was giving him a tour in our studios. I was showing him argon laser table with all these actuators, mirrors, beam splinters, scanners and the electronics.
I have specifically ask him not to stick his finger into a beam…. guess what?
The little kid in Michael stick his finger into the beam and burn his finger.
I never forget that. He was like 5 year old kid screaming in disbelieve that such a cool light can burn him.
Well good luck on the other side and after the reincarnation Michael.
What a spectacle.
The race to get it on the air, the blog…….
The happiest man in America right now is Mark Sanford.
That’s an interesting story, Stan.
“The happiest man in America right now is Mark Sanford.”
I just did a post on Sanford’s mistress. I didn’t want him to feel forgotten π
I wish he had been comfortable being who he was. He was so talented and so unhappy.
Just beat it . . .Sanford got a big news break. Thanks for posting the tidbit on Stanford’s Appalachian beauty.
As I tell the little leauge kids, there is no better skill than keeping your eye on the ball.
This is valuable advise.
Way to go Red (or you could be like Jerbal and CO. and not mention it at all)!

kenlaysnotdead,
I am not sure if I have welcomed you to OJ, but I’d like to say hello and thanks for posting and reading our little slice of orange! π
First, there was Sinatra.
Next, there was Elvis.
Then, there were the nobodies.
Last, there was Michael Jackson.
Enough Said.
Gracias.
sorry for the multiple posts.I am getting used to things here
I was referred by a semi-frequent poster. Who shares my sense of humor.
Jill,
Would the nobodies include:
The Beatles
The Rolling STones
The Grateful Dead
The Eagles
The Cars
The Doobie Brothers
Bruce Springsteen
Maybe a few hundred others that eclipsed the NOBODIES.
But, then again I always thought MJ sucked.
As far as the favorite album survey goes, I’d have to go with “none of the above” and vote for “Off the Wall”
duplojohn,
Yes, those too…throw them in. I wasn’t a michael jackson fan either…I liked the Bay City Rollers.
The nobodies I meant were people like the one hit wonders who think they are icons…you know like heidi and spencer…ugh
The little boys of the world are a bit safer tonight.
Gracias.

Well, make yourself comfortable and enjoy yourself! Glad you found us! π
“The little boys of the world are a bit safer tonight.”…. they will be safe after Cardinal Mahony croaks.
As for you #14 get your sexuality under control since you sound like the moron from Salem.
16 – I’m a heterosexual female. Do you have a problem with that?
“Iβm a heterosexual female. Do you have a problem with that”…… I do #17
Please google – Salem!
The “teacher side” of me is leary of Michael Jackson, but the “80s” side of me appreciates him.
They just said on the news that MJ’s 3 kids had carnival masks on when they took MJ in ambulance…now “the teacher side of me” finds this bizarre.
leery I meant…typo sorry
Demerol IV + Oxycontin + weird dr + enablers = death period
We can love the music, but let’s not condone drug abuse or putting kids in bed with you when they aren’t your own…he said that himself in an interview that he put kids in bed with him (not his own).

For once I have to agree with you.
What Michael Jackson’s Dad did to him….no one will ever know. Jermaine amd Deepak Chopra said today that the reason Michael had the 50 surgeries on his face….was that he didn’t want to get old and look like his Dad!
Sad. He was a star at nine years old….and lasted for 41 years! Not exactly a one hit wonder!
