The FREE event will be held @ Tustin Ranch Golf Club 12442 Tustin Ranch Road, Tustin. 10:45 am-1:00 pm, Wednesday August 26, 2009.
Theme: “John Campbell will discuss the “hottest” Washington DC topics of the summer”
But the really odd thing about this: The town hall announcement is not on Campbell’s website and it is not yet on his supposed-campaign consultant’s site, either! The only place it can be currently found is on PAGE 17 OF THE IRVINE WORLD NEWS. Weird.
Why hasn’t Matt “Jerbal” Cunningham reported this story over at Red County?
Art.
The delay in voting on HR 3200 gave every congressman the opportunity to return to their respective districts over the summer recess and conduct Town Hall meetings. If they are truly receptive to our concerns they should try to meet with those of us who put them into office. As posted Gary Miller is holding a Town Hall for his 42nd District voters as should every other congressman. After these meetings they can report back to congress and share actual testimonies from their area of representation.
While several of us at the Juice, with opposing viewpoints on this topic, are on top of these stories other bloggers may underestimate the importance of the health care debate.
Failure to cover Town Hall meetings, the hottest news of this summer, is irresponsible journalism.
Get your facts straight. Do a little, just a little reporting and find out that there is NO TOWNHALL meeting. This is a rumor taken from another blog. Nice work.
#3,
Care to explain why this meeting was advertised in the Irvine World News, as Red referenced?
F.Lee Bailey,
According to the woman at the phone number, it IS a townhall meeting (she thinks). However it varies from the ones that other reps are having:
It costs twenty bucks, cash, due at the door and it is put on by the local GOP women’s group. There is still space available.
I called and there seems to be confusion on the part of the hosts. I was told it’s not a town hall, but there will be questions and answers like a town hall.
The lady on the phone told me there is space available though, although I unfortunately cannot attend. Campbell isn’t the type of guy who likes to go out in public, so I’m guessing he probably expecting a friendly group.
*We will be out of town….but please….please…
someone that goes (Campbell is our supposed
Congressman)….ask him what he thinks about
offering name brand drugs at the same price as
generic? Talk about making things competitive…
now we are talking. What will our Republican
Party do about not giving the Social Security
Recipients a “Cost of Living Increase” for 2010?
Sorry, 20 bucks at the door is not a “town hall” it’s a fundraiser.
It is a private meeting by the Tustin Area Republican Women Federated. it is not a town hall. Are you people idiots. One phone call to Campbell’s office would clear this up. Get in the game.
Tustin Area RFW is hosting, and needs to cover the cost of renting the golf club. Fine. No problem. However, not fine that Campbell isn’t hosting a true public event, and not fine that this information has been so hard for the average constituent to locate. Not fine that he doesn’t have any information posted at HIS web page.

Idiots? What link do you have for the event? Are YOU John Campbell? He’s made it very inconvenient to attend whatever little meeting he plans on gracing his lowly masses with.
This is typical of John Campbell. He surrounds himself with rude “helpers” and won’t serve the community. It’s shameful.
F. Lee Crabby,
No mention of this event on Campbell’s website. NOT ONE LITTLE Tweet from him about it either.
I thought Jerbal/Matt Cunningham of Red OC was in charge of all those twitters and tweets. Where IS the campaign management of information?
It looks like Campbell wants to be able to say he held a little meeting, but isnt actually interested in anyone actually showing up. Dodging, deception or incompetence is at play for this little event. Which is it?
Red.
Each Congressman will make his or her own call on whether or not to host a Town Hall.
If this event is sponsored by the RWF than those interested in attending must contact them to see if they will be allowed to attend and if a cost is involved, that’s a personal choice.
While I support a free event, such as the one we are attending with our Congressman, Gary Miller, $20 is not an excessive cost if it is needed to offset related event costs.
