The disgusting display of leftists in ignoring the behavior of a man who has made a living off of commenting and judging the behavior of others for 20 years is truly telling. Never mind that instead of an off hand comment, Mr Lettermans behavior reveals the truly hypocritical and twisted morality behind todays leftists. Whether it was the temper tantrum he threw when McCain didn’t appear on his show, or his perverted joke about Palins underage daughter, Letterman has shown he can truly stand among his leftist peers.
They’re carpet chewers like Whoopi Goldberg who said about sodomizing a 13 year old “it’s not rape rape“, Janeane Garofalo, or Bill Maher, who thinks you’ll find conservatives at home dressing as women or smearing feces on themselves. And don’t tell me Bill Maher calls himself a Libertarian. He’s a leftist like the others. I even knew a Leftist Republican once. He’s a Libertarian now too. But they all give to the Democrats. Now, this man Robert Halderman, and the whole “extortion plot”. I think there is going to be a lot more coming out about the whole deal. This is a CBS News Producer, with years of experience breaking news and hundreds of shows to his credit. And he’s going to blackmail David Letterman for a measly $2 million? Wierder still, he asks for a check?
Excuse me, when is the last time a stupid kidnapper in a really bad movie asked for a check? That Mel Gibson movie doesn’t count, the check was a reward. No. An investigative journalist was up to something. He was well paid and highly regarded. I have read he was in debt and I read he had no money problems. I don’t know.
But what I want to point out is we have only heard one side of this story. And that’s the story that David Letterman fans found so hilarious as he described having been caught in behavior that could damage so many careers, bring so much shame to so many lives and so many lawsuits to CBS.

The guy who blackmailed letterman is a criminal. he committed a criminal act. All letterman did was get some on the side. he wasnt married when he did it. He did not do a quid pro quo with the women. He just got some on the side.

Really, Art, this Crowley guy has become quite a monotonous caricature. He isn’t funny. He isn’t entertaining. I think that Letterman’s ever growing left-wing political activism was a psychological mechanism to validate himself because deep inside he was wracked by guilt since he knew that what he was doing was wrong. In his confession, you can see the inner turmoil and the guilt. “Creepy stuff,” he said, and he meant it.
I think he used sex as violence against women. He is an unattractive man. Doubtless, he was spurned by girls as a young man. Like many comedians, his comedy was therapy for his mental wounds, a way to make himself feel better by being accepted. Yet, the misogyny remained, the adolescent wound.
Finally, in a position of power, he tried to heal that wound by seeking sex from a young woman (like the young women who had rejected him). But the guilt quickly washed away the good feeling. So, he sought more sex. And the guilt grew greater in a cycle of sex-guilt-sex-guilt.
He grew angry. He hated the girls he had sex with. Sex became a violent act. His inner turmoil and self-loathing became intolerable. He channeled his self-hate into hate for conservatives because he felt that they were responsible for his guilt since he blamed them for the value system that made him “creepy”. And the more he criticized them, the more he was loved by his fans. Obama even came on his show in the ultimate act of validation.
Then, the roof caved in. His sin was revealed. His confession was a great public vomiting.
But, the show goes on.
Letterman is fine; he never was the “Family Values” type. Yes, he probably cheated on his girlfriend now wife. But at least he does go around claiming he is Mr. “Family Values” like some of our politicians (can you just see the grin on all “Fake News” reporters/ commentators and the Palin’s fringe). This has been a tough summer, for Dave, for our economy but at least he did not end up on the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Sanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).

I believe that the American people can see the distinction between a Late Night jokester and a Politician who preaches one thing and lives another. And I also believe that the American people will have more compassionate about this situation, but who knows what the court case will reveal. I guess sexual harassment suit can be filed (I have not heard of one) but until then, who cares what consenting adults do. We all know that there are laws for regular folks and laws for those who have influence and power. Kinda like the military they all get different spanks for different ranks.
Let’s remember “Those who are not willing to give pardon and mercy are those that do not need pardon and mercy. By the way, who are any of us to cast stones?
